what do we do between those games and what happens after their release? How long will we have to wait for another great Nintendo game?
i dunno, what have you been doing with your PS3 since last november
So you didn't feel like you could give a good answer to the question, so you tried to move the conversation to the PS3? Try again...If you have a stance, then back it up.
What are we suppose to do between those amazing Nintendo games like Mario, Smash, Prime? And once their released, what do we do then? How long will we have to wait for a quality 1st party game to make up for the 3rd party crap?
i did homey
wrong
lets look at the ps2 model, sell alot of consoles...flood the market with alot of crap games...sprinkle in some good ones...sell alot more consoles...flood the market with more crap games...and on and on it goes...
so was the PS2 a bad system because of all the crap games that came from 1st and 3rd parties? no
gamers have to decide what worth their money, thats all
and it would be elitist to think that all these wii third party games are crap...one mans high school musical is another's metroid...it take all kinds of gamers to sell 10 million consoles
So your saying that Nintendo should flood the market with a lot of crap games? I think many of us remember the N64 days where we had to wait forever for some real quality games.
edit---------------
One cannot brag about how great exclusives are and talk about an amazing Nintendo line up and then claim that it's somehow ok to throw a bunch of "filler" games into the mix to tide people over. The reason most people bought a Wii was because it was SO DIFFERENT, but how different can it be when Nintendo is playing by an old formula like you showed with the PS1 and PS2?
Look at the exclusive titles for the 360 and PS3...overall they are might higher quality, and you see much less filler.
its my understanding nintendo has nothing to do with 3rd party titles once they sell the developer kit...its up to each 3rd party themselves what to develop for the console...
and then its up to us as consumers to only buy the good stuff...but if Dogz, Catz, Bugz, Horsez sells well then expect to see more of them, whatever the market bears...
i mean have you seen a bargain bin on 3rd party PS2 titles...its loads of crap, but i dont blame sony for it, they didnt design most of them.
Nintendo wil still release 10+ first party titles a year and most will be good and some will be great...that all i want from them for now, there will be lots of 3rd party titles, too, some good ,some bad, and some great
I guess if Nintendo wanted to, and if they saw some truly poor games come across their desk, they could do the same thing they did with Manhunt2 and tell the game creator to go back and alter the game.
If we really want the Wii to be an "Everybody system", then I guess we'll have to settle with a lot of games that we personally might never play or rent.

i completely agree with you...nintendo could 'revoke' the kits of poor developers, and wii owners have to put up with lots of games that werent made with us in mind
i am okay with this, but i can see why it would frustrate some
They don't have to revoke any kits from anyone...they just have to look at a game and say..."this game doesn't meet the quality requirements we want for the Wii" and the company goes back and tweaks the game.
I think right now many 3rd party companies are jumping on board with the Wii because they know they can make quick/inexpensive games that will fly onto store shelves without being throughly looked over first.

i think all systems should do that...but i wonder if something like guitar hero would have made it past the desk of a beurocrat onto store shelves
I'd say GH is very high quality, but perhaps we can compare the Wii's Chicken Shoot to GH and see which one is better, and which one should have passed.
Lol, no. That's where I disagree. GH may be fun as hell, and I may play it hours on end but it sure as hell isn't "very high quality". It's just fun, and comparing two games that vary greatly in terms of quality is pretty cheap.

missed the point again gft, i must be writing in greek today
i meant in the scenario you laid out, would this gatekeeper position allow a game like GH, or a game like rayman to make it to the shelves, i would rather let the market decide, not some disgruntled staffer.
