I haven't played any of the series, so I wouldn't know if I could pull myself to finishing this game.

I think if we're able to align ourselves with certain soldiers and such that will make the game much more fun to play through. I'd suggest for anyone who hasn't play the MGS games to pick up the first one for the Playstation 1 or the remake for the GC and try them out.
