That's very tue LZ. I agree 100% with your statement and the evidence is out there that people who have had cartridge games are a lot more careful with their discs, which therefore also play better.

To emphasize: If you look at some of the people today, you'll see some horrible treatment of games. You'll see games strewn about the floor, not in their cases. You'll see people grabbing the disc by the bottom and not giving a second thought to it. you'll see people trying to jam games into their Wii rather than just letting the Wii accept it. It doesn't always mess the games up, but it's just downright irresponsible. All those people who had to carefully maintain their games from the earlier eras most likely won't do this, remembering the excessive breath they wasted blowing on cartridges. Don't get me wrong, you don't have to have used cartridges to be responsible, I'm just saying that when you know the disadvantages of abusing games, you'll be less likely to do so.

agreed. i can't stand people who leave their disks and games out of their protective case(s). it shows a level of disrespect for the game, like they dont care what happens to it. honestly, if you can't take care of a game the right way, i'd have little faith in trusting you to take care of anything else.

my SNES and NES taught me how to respect objects; if you take care of them, they'll listen. i've used that with everything, from my games to my car, and even with people. i've found that the newer gamers, those that haven't had to take care of their games to keep them in working condition, don't care what happens to things. they find replacements.

i made sure to make my sister play my NES and SNES games while she was growing up, so she could learn the same things i did. hard work and patience pay off...and not everything is just a click away.

I have both systems too .

My mom threw out our SNES when i was like 4, because me and my brother would always play Mortal Kombat and he would always beat me, so I would just start hitting him and screaming lol.

I download them to ma PC for free^^ wider library of games too

Except VC = legal.

Emulation + roms on PC = illegal.

not for the NES the rights or something expired or there was a new law if it was hard to come across then it was ok to download or something like that?

I think 6 years after they stop selling a game, you can legally download it. but now they are releasing games again on the VC, so that would mean you need to delete the game from your PC since they are continuing selling it

For their times, they wer both awesome systems. They had awesome games, and gigantic libraries. The other systems could barely compete!!!
