I continued playing my game, on this awesome game, I'm confused as hell-o,
I'm playing it for the Ps1, but its a classic on the SNES, so I posted it here :3, anyone else cherish this game?
Yeah, its a pretty good game by Square. One of their better ones that is for sure.
One thing I don't like is that the loading takes forever.. Just too open the menu is about 5 seconds.
shoulda played it on the SNES. only thing you'd miss would be the animated cinimatics, but it's still an unbelievable game
the story was so engrossing. the characters had such depth to each of them, and yet you'd never know it unless you did all the side missions. add in the 7 or so different endings you had to unlock, and you a game that was simply amazing. i don't care how, but i want SquareEnix to re-release this on some modern format, whether it be the DS, Virtual Console or whatever, but this game is way too good to let it die
CRONO TRIGGER IS THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME.
there, I said it
I've been vouching for Chrono Trigger for the VC for a long while now... and I still want Crono and Magus in Brawl!!
such an awesome game! I still play it all the time. I don't have my SNES with me, though, so I've been playing a ROM on my comp... I should get my SNES back in my clutches...
I stopped playing before I beat the game. lmao
Personally I like Chrono Trigger more than the FF series, even 7!
Although I love 7, something about transcending space and time puts the game at the top of my list.
Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy III (VI) Were and still are two of the best RPG ever!
Sorry to revive this, but given how few threads are in this section, I don't think anyone will mind me having some textual geekgasms.
CHRONO TRIGGER IS THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME.
IT OWNS YOUR SOUL.
IT OWNS YOUR LIFE.
IT OWNS YOUR WASHING MACHINE, EVEN WHEN YOU USE DOWNY FABRIC SOFTENER!
THAT IS ALL.
It isn't the best game of all time on my list, but its at least top 20 if not top 10.
DO YOU SEE THIS?
SEMI-APPROVAL FROM LMX!
WHICH MEANS:
CHRONO TRIGGER OWNS YOU, YOUR SOUL, YOUR WASHING MACHINE, AND YOUR LIQUOR CABINET!!
I wish Square had released Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross in Europe. We always get shafted.
However, I have downloaded the soundtracks to both of them (which are awesome, by the way).
that's too bad, cloud. too bad...
I bloody love that game with all my heart... and all of the endings! something like, what, 14?
...and I'm STILL bitter about the
cease and desist order placed on
Chrono Trigger: Resurrection...
Tell me about it! I just about cried the day I read about that, and signed the petition, but obviously that hasn't done much.
There is a new King's Quest with similar quality community-designed, they had a cease&desist too, but since it isn't such a proprietary series with recurring characters they simply had to change the name.
With this, it'd be difficult to sneak around. But still...I never quite understood the logic of companies doing that.
If anything, community projects like this that are clearly non-profit are only going to encourage an interest in what the company originally developed. Thus, to a degree, bringing in more fans and potential income.
Ugh. It disgusts me honestly, because that project was looking fantastic. It would've been such a delight to replay CT with a fresh new look.
Actually the first I'd heard of this Chrono Trigger: Resurrection, but it sounds cool. I think the major point would be that if the company creating the remake did it horribly then it would reflect badly on the parent company, but then again if it turns out good it'd look good on both the parent and new companies. This is sorta the case with Metroid Prime. A no name company was hired in that case to produce a game with a long lasting heritage and it turned out magnificient, but there are several instances of second or third party companies using a game's license to create a PoS. There's no real reason SquareEnix can't make a new implimentation of Chrono Trigger aside from resources. I think they're already making a dozen games for this year so man-power is probably pretty thin for now, but I'd much prefer a Chrono Trigger, even a port to the DS, instead of another oddball Mana game.
I've tried Chrono Trigger...
but ive only gotten as far as getting that frog dude in the castle....and that was the last time i played it...
rlly dident get the point of the game
i was confizzled
You have to travel through time to keep the world safe. Things that occur a hundred, thousand or even million years ago affect things in the future (though all the effects are pre-scripted). You don't really know what's going on until much later in the game from where you quit. You only barely scraped the surface.

But is it Truely worth my time?
cause i may just re-download ZSNES and Chrono

YES IT'S WORTH YOUR TIME! This is considered by many one of the best RPGs of all time, and THE BEST in my opinion. PLAY THROUGH!! At the point you stopped at (meeting up with Frog in 600 AD) you haven't even gotten a single bit of plot. Well, you have, but you wouldn't know it until MUCH later in the game. You don't really get into the plot until after you warp FORWARD in time.
Spoiler: (hover to reveal the text)
After you return to 1000 AD, after the trial and defeating the Dragon Tank, when you're running through the woods you come across a gate. THIS is where the story really begins
