To download the GIMP for windows, go here

The first 2 items listed are required (gimp and gtk environment)
Get the GAP if you want to start animation (equivalent to imageready)
And if you just HAVE to GIMP everywhere you go.
This is a portable version you can run right off a live CD or USB drive.

Look forward to the the public release of GIMP 2.4 coming soon. All new interface with much more userfriendly and intuitive filter placement, as well as more on-the-fly options.
