I think the only real thing holding these cards back is there Memory Interface 128-bit.
What would be the big difference between 512 and 256mb ram? I mean I could get a nice card with 256mb GDD4 ram running at 2.2ghz, and the GDDR3 ones that have 512mb ram is running much slower at 1.4ghz.

It's a tough call. Which one is running the 256MB interface? I'd probably go with that one, above all. However, I'd recommend 512MBGDDR3 over 256 GDDR4, simply because future games are allocating mad layers of textures, and are hogging up the VRAM. I know my CAD application uses 320 VRAM easily if it has a card that can go there. So I see the the level being taken quickly in future games, if it's available. Look at it like this too, 512 is more prevalent in video cards than GDDR4, so it's more likely future games would take advantage of a bump in VRAM, before it's speed came into play.
