FCC rules for 700MHz wireless spectrum coming Tuesday

source Wrote:
The spectrum is unique because it will become available in all parts of the United States at once, making it possible for a single successful bidder to scoop up rights to a nationwide footprint. That would require winning the licenses for all six geographic regions for which it is being auctioned.

Now we've heard about google wanting to have nationwide wireless broadband, and then have the resources (at least on paper) to pull it off. Even though this seems like a rather boring story, it may end up being very good for us all.

I saw the thread title and thought: 'Google's gone another step over the boundry?'

shame that all the UK spectrum will be full until 2012 when analogue TV has been shut off, and most of that's going to our DVB-T platform for HD channels.
sorry I guess I should have added in the U.S. apologies to all our worldwide friends Smile
Ah, I hope this comes around soon...although once I hit college, i'll be fine.
Where I live they already plan to have wireless broadband for all using current technology. I just wish they would hurry the hell up and implement it.
