wa-hey i think the wii's big problem is that everything else has hd or blu-ray.

Will that run off of butane or natural gas (Wii lite). I think this all depends on whether or not Nintendo decides that HD graphics are the way to go. If they choose to stick with 480p widescreen then a dual layer DVD should be more then enough room. The problem comes when the 360 and PS3 are very reasonably priced. Then the Wii will have to shine with more then "hey we're a cool party system".
