Mechanically, EA has worked hard on upgrading putting by way of a new preview camera shot. After lining up a putt, players can get a near isometric view of where the ball will end up after the putt. Unfortunately, the shot can't be remedied in this view should things not line up to the player's liking, but this is a simple matter of pulling back, adjusting aim, and checking the shot again. The feature seems to be a useful addition, but I wonder if it will make putting a bit too simple for some players' tastes. Time will tell.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 may not be focusing on shaking up the world of video game golf, but its updates do seem to be a step in the right direction to making a good series even better--other than allowing lots of ugly golfers onto the green, of course.

Although it seems like the controls are being improved from the rushed port of 07, it doesn't look like EA is trying to better job with the graphics for this game. Madden 08 looks a whole lot better than this. Hopefully it's cleaned up in the final product.
