Should I be saving up for a PhysX card too?

Yeah i've heard that those really boost performance but i would say no, unless you do alot of autocad or graphics stuff.

After my party today I saw an unannounced EA Games demo in the mall I went to and they had this game plus a ton of other games to try out. There were many people trying and waiting to try this game so I didn't get a chance to play but I watched it for a while and it does look freaking amazing. I found this thread just now and actually know what game you guys are talking about now. I went to the site to check out the minimum specs and of course I miss the mark with my almost 2 year old laptop. Strange thing is I only fail in the graphics card part. I should also fail in the CPU part as well because I only have a Centrino Duo (T2300 @ 1.66ghz) to be exact but it says I can play it. Take a look at the screenshot below...




After looking at some more games it actually says I can play Half Life 2 on this laptop as well and I highly doubt that... Just FYI my specs are (no I'm not ashamed to tell as I plan to get a new laptop next year)

Yeah, they only thing that is below the minimum for you mana is your processor, and your not running to far from my specs either, my pc is almost a year old.

Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.3 ghz
Ram is the same with exception its not for laptop,
Nvidia GeForce 7950 GT Overclocked w/ 512mb

And with these I can run at medium settings, so if you only had a faster processor you could run on higher than low, at least thats what i'm assuming it would default to but i could be wrong.

I downloaded the demo, I was a little disappointed, it's an awesome game but basically it only seems like Farcry 1.5...On my graphics card anyway .

I've seen this game on high settings and trust me it looks amazing. I can't play it on my laptop so I'll have to wait or play it somewhere else...

Yeah i just wish i could play it on very high settings, now that would be pretty damn sweet!

Crysis launch today woot!!!!!

I will make sure to fill everyone in on how the game is. Not sure if I will do a review yet simply cause i'm not that good at them. But we'll see what I can come up with when i'm not playing Crysis and Tabula Rasa.

I had the game in my hands at the game store today. It felt so good and I want to buy it so much. It wasn't expensive either. Here it costs about 15 U.S. dollars for the real one! That's a good deal in my opinion. I can't afford to buy it though or I should say I can't afford to play it cuz I'd have to buy another laptop... I WANT TO PLAY THIS NOW!

WHY DO THEY TEASE US WITH SUCH LOW PRICES FOR SUCH A GOOD GAME.

Lucky for you Smokey. At least you can play it. I don't even meet the minimum specs because of my graphics card. Why do laptops have to be so expensive here.

Quick question to anyone in the know. How much would it cost to get a laptop that could play this game? I mean one that could play it fully not the minimum? I'm just curious because it might be time for me to get a new laptop.

Well I've gotten a chance to play this game a little bit last night (had drill today so couldn't play) and it is pretty amazing so far. The graphics on sp on my medium settings are even awesome. When I went to play a power struggle mp map it was a little confusing right away. The graphics aren't as good on mp either because i'm assuming they don't have them up that high so people with the minimum reqs can still play on mp. I'm sure the dx10 mp servers just look amazing though. There are bugs in the mp from what i can tell because the servers don't seem to be completely optimized yet so in turn you got some server lag, though better then what it was in beta from what i've heard. The only reason i know its server lag and not vid lag is because everyone else was complaining about it in the in-game chat. But in the end this game would definately be worth picking up in a month or two for the mp once the bugs get worked out and if you have the capability to run the game
