Here we go again. The latest 'MGS4-going-multi-platform' rumour is interesting for two reasons. Mega entertainment retailer HMV is taking pre-orders for the 360 version right now and the firm even dates both version of the game.

Metal Gear Solid 4 will apparently be available from April 18, 2008 on PlayStation 3 only according to the listing. Then, just over five months later, the Xbox 360 will be blessed with Solid Snake's presence on September 26 (one year exactly after the launch of Halo 3, trivia fans).

Pre-order the 360 version of MGS4 here. But for a limited time only we reckon. It'll come down as soon as word gets out, which is already has.

very interesting stuff. once this news spreads to other gaming sites, it's gonna be pretty difficult for sony or konami to do damage control. even though kojima has said that he will not be making a 360 version of it, doesnt mean that konami wont pick up a 3rd party to port it over. same thing happened with MGS2.

I doubt it's actually gonna happen, just a slip up. But if it does, Greaserlee, I'll officially declare my e-love for you Big Grin

so It's not the most reliable source.

not the best example to use. the elite did come out... obviously. maybe they got the price wrong, but it's out.

for MGS4 they could have just added the date as a placeholder. it's not uncommon. ebgames and the like do that all the time.

I doubt this. It has been confirmed time and time again that MGS4 is not coming to any other console! Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Sony has already paid out the @$$ for this to remain a PS3 exclusive.

and i bet you aything one of the biggest companys in the world (Microsoft) is gunning for it also. afterall theres no amount that sony can pay that microsoft cant match. but in the end i dont think it will be just about amount of money becuase im pretty sure that a big corporation like sony wont pay all that much withouth get a guarantee IE contract.

Sony has actually $30b USD a year more in revenue than Microsoft corporation. True, Microsoft corporation has the 3rd largest market capitalization ($287b , (GE: $399B, ExxonMobil: $423b), but that can't be tapped without the approval of shareholders/filing with the SEC. Remember, it's Microsoft's legal responsibility to deliver a profit to it's shareholders, which is why there was all that fuss with the $1.25b Xbox 360 deal. Even some $100m deal would likely cause a fuss from shareholders.

im 98% sure this will come to 360 like in fall next year tho

and it wont with sony?

also sony only has a ~15b more revune than microsoft, (i have no idea where you got 30 from) but when you take a look at the net income that ~15b runs dry. (t to mention operating income, net worth, and influence.)

all im baisically sayiing is in terms of a company
Microsoft > Sony
and getting back to my original point, they do have enough to match whatever sony is or has thrown at kojima. (not saying that they will or anything, just saying that they could.)
