With so many great titles on all platforms, The Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, XBOX 360, and Playstation 3 you would expect those killer apps to have thier stage in the spotlight with exclusive collector's editions. Now what is a collector's edition?!

Welll usually Collector/Limited Editions [CE/LE] contian a bit of fan service for the above then average gamer/fan of a ertain series. For the XB360 we've seen plenty of CE/LE such as Gears of War, Lost Plant: Extreme Condition, Assassin's Creed, Grand Theft Auto IV and Halo 3 just to name a few. The biggest example of fan service has to be the Halo 3 Legendary Edition; it comes with a the miniture sized Master Chief Helmet, Art book, Extra Bonus disk with behind the scenes footage... FULL OF FAN SERVICE!

As a big Nintendo supporter, I'd love to have some collectibles when I buy games like Metroid Prime 3 or Super Mario Galaxy! Back in the N64 era, Nintendo was pretty big on LE/CE games and even consoles! nothing was bigger then the Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time CE N64 and game package. Talk about fan service, the fans were service graciously with a golden colored N64 cart and golden colored N64 console. But this was dating back to the SNES and NES days with the oringal LoZ titles back in the day.



But what happend to those days? days where I felt special that I got the rare and cool stuff for an extra $10? The very last good CE set wasn't even a set, at Target in the US you could buy the LE LoZTP sword and shield package [I can not believe i missed this.] Would've been even better if only the game came package with this set! Talk about fan service missed out!




So I'm wondering to myself... where are the CE/LE games? Where is the fan service? Are Nintendo fan's being neglected? Or do you feel just as good with a regular editon of a copy of Smash Bros or Metroid Prime?

well the last collectors thing I got was when I bought emerald version... it came with that gba sp carrying/playing case. i lost it though

The Samus helmet would be sweet Lol. They should give you a special edition Mario hat with Galaxy.

all sorts of stuff would be nice.. ACWW had their own type of in game collections... but once that stuff was erased there is no way of gettign back unless you hack.

A red italian plunger, heck just give a free plunger, would keep me entertained for a while

The last nintendo collecters edition wasn't a big set or anything, it was a disk with some Zelda games on for the gamecube, me, I got it. Black Game Cube with mario kart and zelda collecters edition, it worked.

I suppose anything is better than nothing. I want a special edition, very shiny disc box for Galaxy. That would be sweet!

My MPH was shiny too, I figured ti was just how they all came. Nothing special came in it.

Something along the lines like that. I remember a few special edition cases were made of tin. It looked really good.

i guess. Some games, im like that. But Im a big fan of a certain series.. i must have the best.

For Halo 3, I just reserved the Collector's. IF Metroid had a better LE, I'd get that. I also reserved the CE GTAIV

I think i'll get CE GTA IV too, just because that series is awesome.

Big games should get collecters editions.

like HL2 came in a massive silver box with a tee, a special strategy guide, DoD:S and HL:S

I don't why, I would have loved something like this. I guess they're focused on getting the game out and making people happy. If it's any consolation if you reserve Dewy's Adventure you get a plush toy of Dewy...

llol, yeas they did do it for Elebits(Eledees) as well. Konami likes to make plush toys of their characters apparently.
