Despite having the track list for a couple months now, we finally received a Nov. 13 release date for the PS3 version of karaoke torture device game SingStar. You'll be able to download songs beyond the tracks that come with the game and be able to upload your own horrors to the internet. Hmm, that gives us an idea for a new weekly feature.

Of course, you can still play all your old SingStar PS2 games on your PS3, and Sony's still making new last-gen editions of the series like SingStar Rock Ballads. We'll have to find out if you can still upload videos of songs even if you play non-PS3 versions of SingStar. We could spend a whole afternoon with a tub of buttered popcorn just watching uploaded videos of people trying to sing Meatloaf's I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That). Life really is all about the simple pleasures.

This interface looks really slick and being able to download more music/videos is an amazing feature. I think this will be a buy for those drunken PS3 people Smile
That's pretty cool. I will pick it up when I get a PS3 next year.

I hope they enable Muse tracks in this Singstar Smile
OK OK you have to explain MUSE tracks for me Smile
Muse is a band whom play orgasmic music with awesometacular lyrics.

With Knights of Cydonia on Guitar Hero 3, I will hope for at least one Muse song in SingStar.
Oh! So it's like a karaoke! That could be fun... I could encourage people to sing and then make fun of them. =D
These are the tracks that are guaranteed for the States...It seems that different countries get different tracks or at least that's the way it normally works with Singstar...

Monster by The Automatic
Toxic by Britney Spears
Lets Dance by David Bowie
Do You Want To by Franz Ferdinand
Mr Brightside by The Killers
So Sick by Ne-Yo
Hey Ya by Outkast
Here Comes Your Man by Pixies
Go With The Flow by Queens of the Stone Age
No Surprises by Radiohead
Losing my Religion by REM
I Don't Feel Like Dancin by Scissor Sisters
Beautiful Day by U2
Buddy Holly by Weezer
Love Train by Wolfmother

Radiohead ftw.

Otherwise kind of a "meh" tracklisting.

Wolfmother are okay, but since they got popular they haven't been the same. The Killers are awesome so I'm glad to see Mr. Brightside. I *hate* the Scissor Sisters and that stupid song.

Otherwise, not too bad of a list.
This game is mine once I get my PS3. The soundtrack ain't that bad either, but I can't wait to download better ones. Big Grin
I think it's also pretty cool that you can make your own video and then upload to the web. I'm glad Sony isn't just giving us a slightly better Singstar and is using the PS3's online abilities too.

Oh man. This is great for serious musicians, but I feel it's gonna get abused quite a bit. Hopefully they'll screen all submissions before letting them through.

In that track listing I'm likeing Queens of the Stone Age, and that particular U2 song. And Hey Ya could be kind of fun to sing along to.

I think Sony is really onto something cool here. I mean this is why I want our game systems to be fully online. I wanna act stupid and get out the viking helmet and sing a little Buddy Holley.

On a side note, I'm looking forward to hearing what kind of reviews Boogie gets. I'm really afraid the controls aren't gonna be as precise as we've been let to believe, but if it's good I might pick it up. I so need a good game for the Wii right now.

I see what you mean. They are going to have something like that to stop it from getting completly abused. But im guessing people will find ways around it.

There are always jerk people who abuse anything that's really cool, and like kindrik said, it will probably happen here as well. I look at the videos on this game as being something like a mini youtube. Your gonna have the good, the bad, and the very very ugly.
If eventually enough people on this site get a ps3 and singstar. Whos up for a karoke competition sing off? Lol.
Sure but only if you do the robot Ninty-Wii. Imagine grandma not being able to come for christmas because she's laid up, so you send her a nice video of you wishing her a merry Christmas while singing a nasty version of Toxic Wink
