I have a question maybe someone can help me with. I have 2 boys who love playing the wii as much as I do. I just beat RE4 on professional mode for the 4th time. I have a pretty good game file saved with all my money, weapons, and treasure. Unlike all the older consoles there is no memory card. So I can't take it out and say to my boys don't touch daddys memory card only use yours. Because sometimes they get to clicking on stuff and have erased(or overwritten) many saved game files, accidently of course. But since I always would keep my own memory card I could always put the stuff back the way it was if they deleted something on thier memory card. But with the wii saving on internal memory, can I make backup copies of my save game files? I guess what I can't figure out is if I can save my stuff directly to an sd card or not. And if I do, is it possible to to use an sd card to overwrite a saved game file already on my wii or even a friends wii?
I think that if the saved game files is by itself on the SD card then It'll only write to the SD card. I wouldn't know for sure as I don't use SD Cards...
A Nintendo employee told me that the SD card is intended as a back-up. You may save files to the SD, but you can't play data off the SD. You must copy the data to the Wii if you want to play it. And since there can only be one type of RE4 data (or TP etc), the SD doesn't help much.
You must delete the existing file and then copy the data on the SD to the Wii if this is such.

(I got this info when I had to contact Nintendo because I got error 110213. I got to ask about some technical stuff while I was on the phone.)

The best solution I can come up with is to have 2 SDs. (If you have the money/are willing to do this) Copy your data to your SD, and delete it from the Wii. Let others create data, and save it to THEIR SD, then delete it from the Wii. Then copy your data from SD and play. Save over old SD memory, and delete from the Wii, etc.
The only roadblock is you have to copy + delete data... A LOT.

That's pretty much all I know about SD cards. d:
Hope this helped somewhat. Smile

LOL that sounded funny. probably just because its 1:30 in the morning though, bit still funny XD

The only solution is probably what Mark said. Or you could just go onto resident evil 4 and save it into another slot so you have more than one copy. I think you can get like 20 or so different saves.

Just make a few copies of your save and you should be ok.
yup, like the guys above me said, your gonna have to use an sd card.
