as soon as i got the update people started asking for miis. why would that be? oh and i noticed the miis do little things like fall asleep and talk to each other, is that new?
They always went to sleep and talked to each other but I don't know about the Mii thing. <_<
Was this update recent? As in today?
Has anyone else had an update recently?
it was today-ish, like early in the morning, th blue glow of a message woke me up....it tells you there is an update available...they finally put a clock in!
Hmm.. Thats interesting. Im going to see if I have an update later. Please keep me updated if theres anything different with the Wii now you've had the latest update.

well, from what i gathered differences are:
faster load times
the total play-time letter doesnt appear on calendar
clock added
shop channel revised
weather and news can be seen from wii menu
thats all i've got, there are a couple really small things too
ok thats it im going to see if I can get an update.
Thanks.

When I saw my light was on I was half hoping for a new channel. But these updates aren't too bad.
i read somewhere you can also re-arrange your contacts in the address book
' Keep an eye on your Wii today as that sexy blue light will be blinking away to indicate there's a new firmware update to download. Time-piece fans can look forward to a nice digital clock for the main menu and some aesthetic changes to the Wii Shop.
If you're keeping count of your firmwares, this one is 3.0 and is available in Europe, Japan and the States right now. While most of the updates are fairly minor, they all help to make the overall Wii experience a little bit smoother and more user-friendly.
Changes include a digital clock on the Wii menu, the Forecast Channel displays the current weather in its little window, message board has a special "Today's Accomplishments" message to show what you've played and address book entries can be moved around with the Wii-mote.
Meanwhile, the Wii Shop has had a sleek makeover, which changes the way Virtual Console games are ordered. A new welcome screen now shows four recommended titles and then once inside the Shop there's a list of popular titles, the ability to search for a game, a genre category and a category that organises entries by the original publisher.
However, if you've illegally modded your Wii to play import games or copied titles then be warned. Before you update your firmware a message from Nintendo reads: "If your Wii console has an unautorized technical modification, this upgrade could cause inoperability of your console". Looks like Nintendo is clamping down on modders.'

Watch out hackers

thanks for that, it describes it a bit better.
I'm totally loving the digital clock
I didn't know about the changing in the address book, finally no more blank white spaces

Also the today envelope has changed from yellowish color to white so it stands out from the messages you receive.
Ive just finished the update. I was expecting a little bit more but hey. I hope in the next update your aloud to change skins.
Is it cyclowiz with the stealth mode?
um....
I've also noticed other things too. When you sending a message, a black rectangle that says "sending message" appears. The envelope on the Wii menu glows blue rings around it when you have a message. And It now keeps track of who you've sent messages to.
Wow sounds like a cool update, gonna update my Wii ASAP!
Updated, doesn't seem like that big of a deal. :/
I Think It Is. They Added A Bunch of Stuff To make Using The Wii more Convenient. Instead Of Always having To Use That Little "A" Button Every Time You Wanna See Something.
Haha ya. If I want to see the update as soon as it happens I have to stay up till 3 AM so most of the time I dont.
ususally they show up at 12 for me.
on topic: The Shop channel definitely comes ups faster. The whole thing seems a tad faster which is good because the Shop Channel was always so slow.
