Review of

Guitar hero 2

Guitar hero 2. If you want to rock like a star then this is your game! With a crazy controller and great gameplay, this will please almost any rocker! But what if you aren't a rock fan? What if you don't enjoy scremo? *Cough* *Cough* Well lets take a full in depth look at how GH2 stands out to all video game fans! Here is the first episode one of Lubeb360 with the Full review of Guitar Hero 2!

Lets talk Guitars... Guitars have six strings, about 20 reachable frets and over 200 cords. The X-poler guitar controller for guitar hero has 6 buttons and one strum button. You would think that Guitar hero would feel nothing like a real guitar but you my friend are so wrong. Many of the notes that fly by do contrast and feel very well with only 6 buttons. And also the controls are very responsive and fun! Now on to graphics!!

If you played the first Guitar hero 1 or 2 on the PS2 then you know that it has a very cartoony feel. Thankfully that feel has not died along with the 360's awesome graphics power. Many of the same things are the same. Such as menu's, guitars and characters design. Things that did change are the detail and lighting effects. I don't know all the changes from PS2 to 360 but i have heard that they are few besides detail. Something that really hasn't changed at all is the way the notes fly down for you to play. But none the lest, this game is VERY appealing to the eye! Your rocker dose crazy stuff that gets you pumped such as throwing the guitar, playing behind the back and many many others. The other thing that really made me fall in love with this game is the camera work. Some times the camera will be over the crowd and other times it will be looking right down the neck of your on screen guitar! Its energetic and knows what kind of song you are playing to fit in what kind of action to have. Overall, fantastic work with everything on screen! I commend you Red Octane!

Gameplay sadly is exactly the same as GHII on the PS2. Other then newly added songs and extra content, its just like any other port. But lets get down to brass tax. As the notes fly down the screen you must push that color button and strum the fret button to make the sound from that section of the song. If you play notes that have electricity all around them, you get star power. Star power can be activated by quickly moving the head of the guitar upwards. This will then double the note value and make the crowd go wild. Star power can be a real life saver! Many of the songs are ether classic rock songs, ex. You really got me, or modern day hard rock, ex. Jordon. So if you are a classic rock fan, you will LOVE this game. Or if you are a hard core fan, like me, then you will love this game even more. I enjoyed most of the songs on the game but some of the bonus tracks i felt like could have been much better songs. Thankfully, the songs and bonus tracks were all very well put together. Also, there is some bonus content like "The making of Guitar Hero 2" and other guitars and guitar skins. Overall, the gameplay is still awesome and fun even though it has not changed one single bit.

Now what would Guitar Hero be without its great sound and music? Nothing really... Well the tracks manly were just switched around a little and there were a few added and a butt load of bonus tracks were added too. All the songs work GREAT with the X-polar! the notes sound like you are actually playing them. There really isn't much to say about how great it sounds. It just sounds great to me.

Replay is quite simple. Its addicting and will have you coming back for more months and months on end. Also there is some downloadable content and leader boards to keep you busy! (Sorry, have not had chance to try multiplayer out so i will not include it in this review)

Graphics ~ 9.5
GamePlay ~ 9.3
Sound ~ 10
Replay ~9.5

OVERALL ~ 9.5

Very review. Nice to see you back and writing great reviews Luben Big Grin
Though not much of a rock fan or such, I'm very interested in getting this game. Nice review, helps a lot.
Sweet review. Good to see you back dude *thumbs up*
Nice Review! This game is really fun. Although I dont have a 360 I play it at my friends a lot.
Yay for XBOX 360 displays featuring GH2 at Future shop! (That's Best Buy for you americans)

Seriously, that would be my main reason for a 360, but we all know one game isn't worth it :p
(Not that its the only game, but I'm not very interested in any others, I'm not a FPS guy unless there's a keyboard and mouse involved)

Which is why I yet have a console >.<
Great review. The only time I have had with this game is in my local GAME for about 10 minutes. This game is freakishly addictive and I can't wait to buy GH3 for Wii.
If GH3 wasn't coming out on Wii, GH2 would be one of my biggest reasons to get a 360.
Nice review, this game is so awesome.
i tried this game on the PS2. as luben said it is extremely addictive. but I wouldn't buy a 360 just for this.

I would buy a 360 for Blue Dragon! FTW!

Anyway, nice review luben. Good to see your still in good form...rival....
It is addicting, I was playing at a friends, and I couldn't stop playing it..on easy..I lost almost everytime...and MLB games are ftw.
Why was my review moved?

Shouldn't the review section be for ALL games?

And i clearly stated in the title that it was 360 so that no one would be mislead...
When we first made the reviews section it was stated that we'd keep Wii reviews in the sub sections since there was bound to be more of them, while reviews for anything else would fall down here (as stated in the sticky). If we start to get more and more reviews for games on systems besides the Wii then we could consider moving them in with everything else.

Ohh, well that makes perfect sense...

Thanks for the clear up
