Unsubstantiated rumors (i.e. no one decided to ask Midway) this morning suggested Stranglehold for the PlayStation 3, which is already releasing a few weeks after its Xbox 360 and PC counterparts, would be missing its September release date completely and moving to an unspecified launch window. Obviously, given the game's based on the Unreal Engine 3, many started trying to "connect the dots," given the engine's trouble on the platform.
1UP asked Midway what the deal was -- but there's nothing to report. Midway's European public relations counterparts simply forgot to attach a release date in a news blast about Stranglehold and the Internet ran with it. As of today, Stranglehold for PS3 is still on track for its previously announced September 17th release.
