People have recdently being giving the wii a bit of a bad name because of poor 3rd party support, endless party games and blahdy bladhy blah... If people dislike the wii then why are they in such great demand?
I think the 3rd party support is really good and its better than ever before. I think the people who complain about the Wii having quite a few party games is because they expect more hardcore games. Which is understandable. But in my opinion its going great and is ever getting better.
I don't think people dislike the Wii. Its just not perfect.
Third party support is gas powered fire at the moment, it was poor in the start
h8terade, thats all...dont sweat it
Because the main source you hear bad things about the wii from is the internet. Now who are these people posting negative comments about the Wii on internet forums and pages? Mostly one of a few types (or a combination of them): tech junkies who believe all things cutting edge are best, gamers disappoointed by the lack of Halo's and GTA's being released on wii (a generalization, mainly saying mature games that look mature), and lastly fanboys.
Why is the wii in high demand? Because it hit their target audience... anyone. Traditional non-gamers are looking to purchase the system for wii sports alone. Gamers who couldn't afford a 360 or ps3 have bought wii's to tide them over. Gadget junkies have bought it to try out motion controls. Parents are buying it because they see the price tag and some of the games and find it's a good choice for their kids. And of course you always have nintendo's fan base.
Now will the wii have a hangover? Possibly, but I doubt it will be too much. People that hesitate on the $250 price tag will be able to buy them in 6-12 months for under $200 used pretty easily I speculate.

Indeed it is. Now they're getting used to Wii dev kits. EA is finding new ways for everyone to play their sports titles. Ubisoft is trying something different with an Online racing game for Wii, and they're working on another Red Steel, to improve on the first one. Those are only to companies that are improving.
im looking forward to the new redsteel. sounds good
I'm only dissing on the Wii because of Nintendo's incompetence to cater towards countries that aren't called America or Japan. At least Microsoft and Sony are better at that.
The 3rd party support is good, now if only they could actually release good 3rd party games on the Wii. Then we'd be getting somewhere.
yeah im pretty annoyed that the UK has to wait until 08 for SSBB or MKWii
As for third party games, I'm looking forward mostly to sequels, such as Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 and the second Red Steel.

Ditto. Red steel was a great (underestimated) game, Raving Rabbids was a huge hit
I hated Red Steel (glitchy game, dodgy controls) and Rayman was pretty boring after about an hour. So I have no hype for either of the sequels.
We are going to see a massive improvement in Redsteel 2 (hopefully)
But I think rabbids will be like the first one but with new mini games and probably a few new modes. Rabbids is a good game but I lost interest in it a few days later.

Agreed ^^
Red Steel wasn't that bad imo. I had a lot fun playing it and as for now I think it's still the best FPS on the Wii so far ( not many rivals though xD).
I'm really looking forward to further informations on Red Steel 2. It hasn't even been officially announced yet.
These are only the hardcore complaining. The casual gamers make up more than half of the Wii sales.

Your right. Take mario party 8 for instance(eventhough it isnt 3rd party). I only bought it because my girlfriend is addicted to all of the mario parties. (I have to say the game has grown on me like its nobodys business) But its aimed for the younger and people who want to test out the 'cool' motion controls aka the casual gamer.
don't worry be happy
we'll get third party support like ff:cc and no more heroes

Yes, keep them coming asap. Because at the moment my Wii is gathering dust.
