Yes, this is another birthday thread. However, it isn't for any member of this site. Oh no; it's for the famous video game music composer, Koji Kondo.
Born on August 12, 1960 in Nagoya, Japan, Koji Kondo has composed music for many of today's greatest games of all time, including the Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda series.
From an early age, he pursued a career in music. Hired by Nintendo in 1983 to originally compose video game music (which he had never given any thought), he has remained with the most widely-known video game company throughout the years, composing music for every one of Nintendo's systems, as well as the DS and, most recently, the Wii.
According to the Wikipedia page, his famous theme from Super Mario Bros. has been on the Billboard Magazine's Hot Ringtones chart for over 110 consecutive weeks, where it has also hit #1.
So, on behalf of Wiiloaded.com, as well as a great deal of the gaming realm, I would like to wish Koji Kondo a Happy 47th birthday, and may he continue to produce great music that will be remembered for years to come!
