look at this, the Nintendo Wii has nearly 10 million consoles sold. (9.8 million to be exact) and the Microsoft Xbox 360 has almost 11 million (10.9 to be exact) I remember a few months ago when this 1 million unit gap was nearly 3 million. Do you think that quite possibly the Wii could sell more consoles than the 360?
I think thats insane to catch up to the 360, when they had a year in advance to sell many consoles, it hasn't even been a year for the Wii. (try like 9 1/2 months)

Definately, but when Microsoft takes out Halo, then they don't have GTA IV, then Nintendo is gonna put out Mp3 SMG And SSBB, thats where Nintendo Will take teh winz
I think everyone knows that its going to happen. I think the question you should be asking is when.
Possibly by the end of this month. There is a thread in here of last week's sales in gaming. In there it was shown atm there is only a 0.28 million difference between the two. So it;s only a matter of time.
I think the Wii might pick up the lead, but lose it during Christmas. Maybe then reclaim it once again afterwards...
It's not a matter of 'if' it's a matter of when.
It will surpass the 360 by October, and after the holidays, the Wii will have a commanding lead. Sure, Halo 3 is coming, but the Wii is still the must have gaming system for the general population, and will be hard to find around Christmas (mark my words). Add in the halo effect of the DS Lite, and the coming of the big three (Metroid, Mario, Smash) along with WiiFit for the non-gamers, and you've effectively taken the market for good. Remember that many people that have been looking for Halo 3 have most likely picked up a 360, so while the game will sell very well, I'm not certain that the 360 will get the same kind of sales boost that the Wii will from those big name games (since many people still have not had a chance to find and buy a Wii, and others haven't seen the current lineup as a compelling reason to search for one).
PS3 will be hard pressed this holiday season. Both competing systems are rolling out big guns, and Blu Ray, which is a compelling reason to pick up a PS3, will face some heavy competition from HD DVD this holiday season ($199 player anyone?).
I would say yes because the wii is selling like hot cakes and it is already tied up with 360 at 10 mill i think

the wii has 10.10 mill
so they're about 1/5 of a millionth apart

By October Wii will be ahead, I think. I doubt it will happen early september because the recent 360 price drop will help boost sales a bit.

oh yeah, the wii will definatly pass 360 sales. By the next batch of consoles, I think the will be:
1st. Wii
2nd. PS3
3rd. 360
definitely going to happen, my prediction is by the end of august. it is possible but maybe not so likely is just my prediction tho
Woah. I didn't realize how the console jump the Wii made. O_O Last time I checked they were at like 5mil. Well well well. Nintendo might jump them before Galaxy comes out. Can't wait.
when galaxy comes out, the wii will earn a gold medal in long jump.
Yeah, it is kind of amazing that the Wii can catch up to the 360 that fast. I am sure that it will continue to move past the sales of the 360 once the three main games (MP3, SMG and SSBB) are released.
