Sometimes it feels like hackers do things just to prove that they can rather than for any actual useful purpose. Case in point, Japanese homebrew developer SofiyaCat has set up a minimally-functional DS emulator on a hacked PSP. The compatibility is reportedly spotty and the emulation runs extremely slowly, but you can count on the community to improve these problems in due time.
It might seem pointless to emulate the DS on a system that only has a single, non-touch screen but ... well actually it is pretty pointless. But it is possible, and that's all that matters sometimes.

Wow, what a waste of hackers time. Seriously, that is not even impressive since can't be used.
Phail, hackers. Phail.
Wow thats lame-0.....
Oh well
You two must have done some pretty amazing things today. I mean this emulation isn't anything all that great, but someone spent a lot of time trying to get it to work, and for that I think it's cool.
So do tell Mr Luben and LemonManX, what did you two do today that was so amazing that this act by some devout person seems to pail in comparison
There's gotta be plenty of times people have ripped apart their game systems just to see how something works. This person must have spent hours trying to get this whole thing to work. Is it practical in it's present form...NO, but it could become more, and I think that's commendable.

you could be a role model (no sarcasm....might be a little exaggerated)
lol too true, but it's better then looking at someone's hard work and calling it crap

I admire his work, because that really is no easy task and I know I wouldn't be able to do something like that, but he should've put his skills to a more productive use. Emulate something else that's yet to be emulated on the PSP, or... well I don't really know what. But something just a little more useful.
There's a difference between doing something amazing, and something useful. This is probably amazing... to those who care about useless feats. Then again... I guess with all that spare time you gotta do something to the PSP with its lack of high quality games.
psp just got a 9.0 rating by ign for game joann d' arc
I didn't say it had none. I was merely referring to it not having many.
That is cool and pretty pointless at the same time. Cool because of the fact that they showed others what they can do. Pointless because it serves no purpose whatsoever.

I have to agree, this is pretty pointless. If it doesn't have touchscreen capabilities then what's the point? Imagine playing Phantom Hourglass or Dragon Sword on this thing. It's sure to be annoying. Instead of something like this, they should hack the DS and make it able to play PS1 games. :p
Would that even be possible?
Probably not, but hey, if I have to put crap in my DS I'd do it.
Well, DS plays N64 level graphics, so PSone would be do-able.
Hey its still impressive!
Lmao, damn some people are just so easily pleased.. I suppose having time on your hands leads you to doing something that isn't need.. owait.
Pointless now but may be useful when it is fixed.
There isn't much help that fixing can offer. No matter what they do the PSP doesn't have touch screen capabilities. So what does this feat prove anyway?
