Brave NeoGAF member and Kotaku Defense Force lieutenant "wonderkins" was bold enough to crack open the chassis on his brand new Xbox 360, one of the newly released Premiums with HDMI output. This inside look at the gory internal workings of the newest Xbox 360 is now largely assumed to be off the "Zephyr" variety, following the motherboard and heatsink form factor of the Xbox 360 Elite. What's that mean? The latest hardware release from Microsoft is most likely not of the "Falcon" 65nm manufacturing spec, meaning the arrival of cooler, smaller, hopefully more reliable CPUs is still unknown.

I thought more people looking to buy "new" 360's would have actually been interested in this...
hmm... still better than PS3s
If they've made 'em, why aren't they using 'em? Microsoft confuse me at times..
I've seen people in Best Buy looking over the 360 boxes pretty close to see if they have HDMI on them. I just figured by what Microsoft had said that HDMI on all the new 360's would go hand in hand with the 65nm Falcon chipset. I mean why make a new SKU with HDMI if you aren't going to implement one of the things that's suppose to help "cure" the hardware failures?
Are we going to see the Falcon chipset come out around christmas time? I mean if that happens then I wonder if a bunch of people are gonna feel duped by buying these 360's that are pretty much the same as the old ones, but with HDMI.
Most seem to think the halo xbox 360 will be the first with the 65nm Falcon chipset. and Microsoft hopes the new heatsink will be the "cure" for all the hardware failures only time will tell.
the revised heatsinks are supposed to stop the overheating issues. one of the primary reasons for the smaller chipset is cheaper production costs. it just happens to also emit less heat.
