with a new metroid game coming to retail stores and with origianl already on the VC channel...which is your favorite?

Hands down Super Metroid. It never gets old to me no matter how many times I play it. I still set up my snes from time to time just to play this game. I like the Prime games, enjoyed Fusion (even though it is very linear), thought Zero Mission was good, but none of them in my opinion compare to Super Metroid. It may be because it was the first Metroid I ever played, but even so I consider it my favorite game of any game I've ever played.

Not only is Super Metroid my favorite Metroid game, it is my favorite game of all time.

Super Metroid takes first. It has the addictive gameplay of the first Metroid but with beautifully done areas and plenty to find and do. Super Metroid takes the crown for best SNES game and is in my top 5 for best games ever.

Honorable mention goes to Metroid Prime for reviving my favourite Nintendo franchise when all seemed loss and doing an amazing job in updating and keeping it new while at the same time giving us all of this fresh gameplay.

Metroid Prime Fusion, since its the only one i've really played.

Seriously Cloud, get some time into the other games. I mean, Metroid Fusion rocks. But it has nothing on Super Metroid and Metroid Prime.

Super metroid had everything about the first with many more great things!

I never played super metroid ... So I would say Metroid Prime.

I haven't played Super Metroid yet, so it's Metroid Prime for me. Looks like I'm in for a treat when it comes out on VC.

Super Metroid by leaps and bounds. When you guys play it for the first time on VC, remember, this is a SNES game. It will have all the limitations that other SNES games have.

Hell, even with the limitations it beats half of today's games in pure awesomeness.

Well it HAS appeared on nearly every single "Top X games of all time" list.

On a related note, I'm going to finally beat Metroid Prime, lol. I bought it on release, but I never beat it :o

You must beat Metroid Prime. Great game, and give Echoes a try. Its alot like Prime so that was kind of disappointing but still worth a try if you enjoy Prime.

I went with Prime because it was the first Metroid game I ever played, although I have since played super Metroid and can see why most people pick it so it's kind of a tie for me between the two...with echoes bringing up a close second because even though everyone else seems to whine about it I still thought it was an awesome game...

Echoes is a great game. But Prime beats it out for doing everything Echoes did first. And Super Metroid beats them both out by being an outright superior game.

IMO so far: MP3 is best

I will find it hard to enjoy MP3 more than a classic Metroid game. 2D is where its at.

But I will still enjoy Corruption nonetheless.

Super Metroid has the advantage of having Ridley, Mother Brain AND Kraid all in one game.

before i got MP3 it was all the way with Metroid for NES cause i got it(not on VC)
