On the Wii as you know there is a downloadable preview of Metroid Prime 3. After it is completed conneting the video screen comes up on the screen. At the bottom of the video window it has a message banner that says "Metroid Prime 3 In Stores August 28th!" But in the Nintendo Power article "Beautiful Corruption" It reads "You'll finally be able to enjoy the fruits of labor come August 27." The release date is August 27th(most found date across internet).

But a one day delay doesn't really matter.
If a game is released on the 27, then you can expect to see it in stores 2 days after that date.
things like this always happen. games arent always available on the release date. the release date is the date games get ships to the stores. but with high anticipated games they are available on the given date.
but it says 'In Stores' not, 'released'. Basically the 28th is the street date while the 27 is the release date.
