The PlayStation Eye accessory is far more advanced than its last-gen predecessor, the EyeToy. With 120fps support, high-res video recording, advanced speech recognition, and EyeCreate photo editing software, we feared the Eye would cost an arm and a leg. It doesn't appear to be the case. The upcoming Eye of Judgment, which includes the camera peripheral, is listed for the same price as a regular PS3 retail game: only $60. According to amazon.com, the game will arrive in October. At this price, it seems worthwhile to pick up -- even if you're not interested in the game.

2 words.....KICK ASS
120fps???

And just because the camera picks up more stuff doesn't make the games for it any less weird....

I'm looking more forward to the DS camera tbh....
I'm not sure why you think the game is so "weird", I mean it looks interesting to me.  I can see where a camera system with this kind of specs could be used for some cool stuff.  Eye Toy was never fully realized, but I hope the Playstation Eye sees better days.

I can see using this with a Role Playing game and having card that either improve your stats or give you special weapons. If the game+Playstation Eye work as well as the video would suggest, then there's quite a bit that can be done with this technology.
Yeah, it's probably the genre of game (cards? pshh) that turned me off rather than the actual product itself. Everything is still received as 2D, is it not?
Did you not watch the video? I'm guessing the Playstation Eye recognizes some code off the cards and creates the images in full 3d within a full 3d world.
the tech is cool. the game is not.
The game may not be my cup of tea either, but I think it falls along the lines of a Pokemon-like scenario, so I think gamers still into that realm will enjoy it, and maybe gamers into a more mature D&D game experience will enjoy it also.
I saw this game in action just recently on TV and it was very cool. Just like in the video above, you can hold one of the playing cards in your hand, and on the TV screen it looks like you have a monster or whatever just sitting there. What I saw was something like a pirate ship sitting in a guys hand and he could move it around and do things to it. It seems the object of the game is to get the majority of the squares on the board for yourself.

If this game goes over well, we could continue to see some pretty cool stuff being done with the Playstation Eye.
