WHAT DO WE WANT!?

GAMES!!!!!

WHEN DO WE WANT IT!!!!

NOW!
I honestly can't see Nintendo getting sent to court about this. Is it really illegal to release your products at different times in different regions? I just see the courts thinking that it's nothing but a bunch of impatient, whining PAL gamers. True Nintendo does take a long time to release their games in the PAL region but are they really going to get sued over this?

Oh and I can't seem to read the article. It goes to Aussie-Nintendo and then the link doesn't go anywhere for me...

Edit: Never Mind. The article is working for me. I read it and I agree with a lot of the points that were made. Maybe Nintendo will get sent to court for this...but I still have my doubts as to whether or not anyone could win against them...

I never knew that region locking was illegal. But if that was the case then why has it taken so long before anyone noticed? The Wii's been out for almost a year and people are only now starting to say that region lockout is implemented in it?

Because at launch Nintendo was OK for getting games across to PAL. But recently they've dropped the ball. Also, Sony and Microsoft have been giving PAL steady releases not too far off from the NTSC dates.

TBH i think nintendo have gone slightly mad with power (for the first time in like 20 years they're top of the market again) and they just want the money:/ i mean why would a japan based company release their "revolutionary" console in the US a month earlier, ive done some stuff about japan in school and it seems to me the majoroty of the country is loyal to japan, so why not japan first? give them something to be proud of their country!!!
Wow im so happy to see people taking a stand. Well I for one will be writing a letter to Nintendo UK and complaining, it may not get me anywhere but atleast they will know people arent happy.
I know we arent treated as bad as the Aussies when it comes to release dates, but there is that much of a difference. The UK get crappy dates and have to wait months longer than America which doesnt seem right. The difference in release dates in America and Europe should be weeks, not MONTHS!
we need to make some huge plan to get every PAL gamer of this forum to send emails, letters, faxes and phonecalls to NOA and NOE.

Hopefully they get somewhere with this, I've got half a mind to write to Nintendo Australia as well because it's really not good enough.

Thanks for your help. Big Grin I shall be one of those who are going to send letters and e-mails. Lol

np lol i hope they understand english at NOE...
Wait! before we go any further, we should talk to D4rk. D4rk feels strongly about this too, being European. Maybe we can organise a mass spammage of emails and letters with all of them saying WiiLoaded on them and giving our concerns. We have to get every active member, European or not to do this. Come on Americans, it's not our fault! Will you help us?

D4rk, could you make WiiLoaded Official Letterheads?
Great idea..D4rk you know you want to Wink
yeahToungue
he so does...
I'm on you guy's side in this.

*goes out and buys MP3*

Well Nintendo owns them fully so they're a part of Nintendo now and not like Rare which Nintendo owned 49%

Well it's really obvious why. The USA is the biggest market on the planet. It actually does make a lot of since market wise to release your products where there's the potiental for the maximum amount of profit...

Do you guys think that if I wrote to Nintendo of Austrailia they would care? I don't live in the PAL regions but I want to show my support to you guys out there. (After all, how am I supposed to beat you guys in Brawl if you don't have it for another few months Smile)

Retro has proved themselves as truly great game designers. I can't wait to see future works. Also, on the topic of this issue, I agree 100% that action should be taken.
I'm going to start my letter to NOA now. Because although I've now got an alternate way to play MP3... I still think what they are doing is incredibly wrong.
Is this about Metroid Prime 3? Isn't it being released in late October? That's only a two month delay, which I would consider pretty reasonable (not ideal, but reasonable). If it's about something else, though, please ignore me.

I suppose I've gotten so used to this that I'm always forced to find away around region coding on every console (and even my dvd players are region free). At least the DS isn't region coded!
Metroid prime is released in November for the Aussies.
In the report it details many things that display how bad Nintendo is acting.

It lists some of the ridiculous delays we've faced from their first party games and seen that third parties have NO problem getting the games to PAL regions in a matter of weeks after the US release.

It also discusses how they may be breeching the right to free trade by imposing region locks and making us wait out these long delays.

The Wii may be a good console in America and Japan. But in the PAL regions, the Wii is less than impressive.
