Song: Cat Like Thief
Artist: Box Car Racer
Reason: I used to play this song a lot when I was on vacation in Portugal two summers ago. I love my vacations and when I play this song I get flashbacks of sitting on the marina drinking Coke with my family.
Song: Pathetic
Artist: blink-182
Reason: Similar to Cat Like Thief, I played this song a lot when I was over in New York. It gives me a flashback to walking on this street at about 8.30pm walking away from this restaurant we had just eaten in. This song makes me very sad. I love my vacations.
Song: Make You Smile
Artist: +44
Reason: The lines "Do you remember where we used to sleep at night" and "The next time I see you you'll turn away. I'll say hello and you'll keep on walking." Then the girl starts singing and says "The next time you see me I'll turn away."
Song: Adam's Song
Artist: blink-182
Reason: "I never thought I'd die alone, I laughed the loudest who'd have known?". It was written about a friend of theirs who committed suicide. That line basically said that nobody would have ever known he was depressed. "I'm too depressed to go on, you'll be sorry when I'm gone" and "Give all my things to all my friends, you'll never set foot in my room again. You'll close it off, board it up, remember the time that I spilled the cup of apple juice in the hall, please tell mom this is not her fault"
What makes it more sad is that one of the witnesses of the Columbine massacre killed himself while listening to this song looping itself constantly

Most the shite in the charts
Jefro tull
That song from watership down
Hotel California - Eagles
Tied to a specific person.....
john rzenick- im still here
chris isaak - forever blue
the whole album, also titled forever blue, is pretty depressing. the album is basically about his break-up. one of my all-time favorite albums.
Rhett Miller - Come Around.
Only because it reminds me of a very sad moment in a TV show I love, and how I can relate to that moment.
Richard and Linda Thompson- The End of the Rainbow
The Verve- The Drugs Don't Work
Sigur Ros- "Untitled 3"
Mogwai- Mogwai Fear Satan
Yndi Halda- Dash and Blast
Bjork - Unison
Tom Waits - Martha
Doesn't make me sad necessarily, but Wish You Were Here has an overall sad tone.
Oh wow, about 3 songs actually, but the only one I can remember off the top is, Aaron - Lili.
I would have to say Staind - Outside
....unfortunately it seems to be my life :/
but strangely enough it is also my fav song, is that wrong?

first time me and my bf "broke up" 2 years ago for a small break i blasted this song and belt it out on the top of my lungs in a remote parking lot near my old apartment in the car. it was right on the docks and i was overlooking the water. i liked to drive there on rainy days and the guard there would always let me in for space and privacy. it was what used to help calm me down but this song always made me so "hysterical" and i missed him. now we're obviously ok and we've been together for 4 years

this is another one that makes my heart shatter
Champagne High by Sister Hazel, even more so because of a long history with the song and a person in question, and only recently figuring out what the lyrics mean and how fitting it was after all.
YouTubed If you do click that, try to just listen to the song carefully without watching the video first, and see if you can understand the lyrics. Then you can watch the video (it doesn't really do the song justice).
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart-Requeim
Any thing by Radio head, James blunt, >>Insert new popband name<<, and the Ben grifith songs that gets played on addverts on planet rock
you don't like radiohead? T_T
I like them its just there songs are a bit downbeat

Oh awesome. Yeah, they're one of the few good bands around at the moment.
Electioneering is one of my all-time favorites
