Nintendo and its developers are startign to make use of the WiiConnect24 system with the News and Everyone Votes channels but I would love to see more!

+ Legend of Zelda TP Expansion: Same game, higher difficulty. More levels. Characters. Trading for better items. More ACTION and a side order or Epic dipped in awesomesauce. The freaking game is just sitting my rooom. Played it about 5 times, but tell me... is this the 3 years I've waited for?

Thats just one of many!
I agree; I'd like to see more from the gaming end.
Obviously Nintendo knows they can capitalize on online features. So what're they waiting for? Pigs to fly?
It seems like it. Capitalize when the time is right, I guess.
Its the people who don't want to have online games and stuff.. the 'offliners'.  I hate how it seems the offliners are holding us 'onliners' back, by saying its not needed.  us onliners think its needed! Nintendo needs to remember the Wii is intended for EVERYONE, teens and young adults who like to go online.  Not everyone who has a wii is 10...
I think they will give us that eventually.

im just saying that WiiConnect24 was big talk, and its doing nothing. Just new news. my dad loves the Wii.
LOL

"offliners" FTW!

Haha, hope college won't charge me for 24/7 connection.

Thank you. It's about time someone else saw this as well. When I first heard of the feature I was so excited but it's flopped miserably so far.

Dude. I've been on this ever since.

They saw ACWii will fully take advantage fo it... but thats a long way from now and dozens of titles could've been used it.

i'd like to have the online functionality, too (although right now i only have dial-up... argh!), but i can see why the big n has focused on other areas first.
Hm....can any explain or link me to what the MP3 update actually has for non-interweb users?
I believe Nintendo said that downloadable content was coming in 2008...I just can't seem to remember where that was said...

That would've probably been the announcement of Wii Ware?

Okay, for people complaining about Nintendo's online service... I completely understand. But also remember, Nintendo's online is just starting. Sure it's not as great as Xbox Live featurewise, but it also doesn't cost money.

Nintendo already has more online gamers than MS, pretty much from the DS though, but as more Wii's sell, more Nintendo gamers will be getting online with future games that support more and more features. We'll have plenty of online titles to choose from in the coming months.

As for downloadable content.... hello? We've been able to download classic games since the system's release. I got to pack away 5 systems when the Wii released (NES, SNES, N64, GC, and TG16) and I get to play some classic Sega games that I missed. We've got all those channels, even if they are near worthless to most of us, alot of people like them.

Sure, I really like XBox Live's setup, but considering Nintendo is aiming for nongamers, it's no wonder they bundled a game and offer free online play for the Wii.

I suppose the biggest thing is that people posting on a Wii fansite do not have the same opinions as the average Wii buyer.

Yes, I do want more, and I want it faster, but I can understand why Nintendo is focusing on other things. For instance, trying to keep up with demand almost 1 year after launch...
If Nintendo actually do something smart and initiate a external hard drive idea into the Wii then we might actually see cool things from WiiConnect24. Until such time I won't be expecting or hoping for anything big.
its a wonder to me how so many people can pick out so many faults of the wii and still worship the thing:/
LMX you beat me to it about the Hard drive, I was going to say we'll get more content when we have somewhere to put it.
