i dont like him simply because of his name. it didn't match anything about it. diglet and dugtrio - they dig through the earth. mew and meowth - cats (although one's "alien-esque"). nintetails - had nine tails. haunter, ghastly - ghostly names. charmander, charizard - they char things. squirtle - squirts things. pikachu - uuh, pika?

I wonder what the japanese think about every other freaking pokemon they have. lol. All of them are English/latin - rooted.

jiggs is a lot more popular over there, i thought? and her name is perfectly simplistic.

Maybe because Asian people think western things are cool. (kinda like how we get chinese tattoos and stuff).

They just wanted to keep ONE pokemon theirs, and the other 500 as English-derived? I dunno if Jiggs is more popular though.

Jiggly would wipe the floor with Pikachu...or not. Jiggs is probably my most loved pokemon.

If you want simple they should of just called Pikachu yellow rat, but then that would suck even more.

Thanks for making this thread such a hit. I was just wondering why it was moved to off topia. It's about Pikachu and your love and hatred of him, not about banning the user above you or what's inside your butt. It's also about i-pods, but that should be in technology and gadgets. This thread belongs in Pokemon!!! Don't you agree? (Either answer my questions or continue chatting about Pikachu and I-pods)

its not my only reason for disliking him...there are others as well, but thats the only one i could put into words. but he did seem out of place with the pokemon.

not only did i not like his attitude at first, nor did i like his unacceptance of being caught and acting like any other pokemon. seriously, at least have the dignity to lose a battle and be caught and put in a pokeball. it would have prevented a lot of the problems with him being captured and taken away, dont you think?

I wouldn't want to be put in a Pokeball if I were a Pokemon...
