Saying that the only thing keeping Metroid from being game of the year is it's lack of hi-def graphics is a major stretch.
Its a stretch, but not a major stretch. Prime 3 is one of the best games that I've ever played
Those pictures do indeed show a pretty big difference, but the biggest difference you'll get out of them is playing them yourselves. MP3 has so much polish in comparison to MP1 and 2.
I've noticed the changes from Echoes and they are very well polished. You can really tell with the save stations, the hallway, and the morph ball view.
Those pics don't really show much to any peeps that haven't seen Prime 3 in action yet. MP3 looks only marginally better than MP 1 & 2. I could hardly notice the differences when playing it. All the same it is an amazing game, blows the other two right out of the water and from a gameplay standpoint it is the game of the year but I'll be very surprised if it wins.
The article is interesting, but many of the pictures are so dark it's hard to make out exactly what we're seeing.
I can say that I really enjoy Metroid Prime 3, and even though I was a big fan of Metroid Prime (never played 2), I continue to be very impressed with the presentation of the game. This is the way Wii games should look and feel, and I hope Nintendo has taken note.
I think Prime 3 could be game of the year. At the very least Wii Game of the Year. It can beat out Brawl and Galaxy.
Maybe it can beat brawl in your metroid fanboy mind...but I'm pretty sure the rest of the community would choose the former.
I myself, am looking forward to FE:10. Easily not GotY material though.
As much as I love multiplayer games (Brawl) I would hope most of the community would agree with me when I say story focused games are more enjoyable in the long run.

Yes, but looking at games isn't really enough. I'd bring up the TP example but I know that all the fans will come crying.
But we can't judge SMG to be better than Sunshine until we play it... although any improvement over SMG is good... because of Sunshine being crap.
