We have a much larger staff than the site you are used to, but since our staff rarely leaves (because they love it just as much as the rest of us!), we generally only recruit new staff when our traffic requires it. It is not difficult for a member to rise into a staff position. Simply show that you are active, well liked, knowledgeable in the area you wish to moderate, level headed, respectable, with good written communication skills. Our moderators are not the police of the forum... they are the helpers. They exist to make the site enjoyable for our members and promote the section of the site that they are responsible for. If you have visions of going power hungry, locking posts, and banning people all day, you'll be sadly mistaken, as the day to day functions of a moderator are nothing like that.
That being said, there are other staff positions that we're always looking for candidates for. Show outstanding quality in reviews or news reporting, and you might find yourself there!

As you can probably see, it's a more extensive list than the previous site you are used to (especially comparing staff members per users ratio), as that is how we keep the site so friendly, helpful, and clean.

thats exactly what i was about to say!
he claimed i0n sent him a PM asking to be a mod a month ago and ever heard anything......meanwhile what about those deserving members on THAT SITE that should of been mods a million years ago? they heard nothing? and i0n hasnt even been around, i talk to another mod from time to time and trust me- he aint there
not to mention eric has been banned like 50 times not only from me for flaming but other mods too......
