The Smash Bros. Dojo continued it's oversaturation of website updates. Among the more interesting ones were the Golden Hammer, online play, Snake's special moves, final smashes for Diddy & Pokemon Trainer,
There was a rumor about Metroid Prime 3: Corruption selling 400,000 units in its first week. It seemed to have just died without ever coming to a concrete conclusion so I'm going to assume it was fake.
Official Nintendo Magazine announced 16 player online multiplayer for Mario Kart Wii, and then went and denied it the next day.
Nintendo confirmed that the Wii Zapper would come with a Zelda spinoff mini-game Link's Crossbow Training. I'm not expecting much from the game, or even the zapper, but at least we're getting something with the plastic shell. And the Zelda name slapped onto it should guarantee more than a few extra sales.
A Wii port of the Gamebryo engine, used in games such as Oblivion and Fallout 3 is announced. Doesn't exactly mean better games are instantly coming to the console, but the possibilities are there.
In minor news, the Wii overtook the 360 as market leader. But unless you're a Wii fanboy, this shouldn't be important. Moving on...
IGN finally put out that editorial about a long overdue (about since launch) headset for Wii. Matt brought up some great and valid points, to which Nintendo really has no answer. But after reading it I was incredibly saddened. Why? Because I know that all the awesome things mentioned will never happen. Sigh.
Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 will support 32 person online multiplayer. Hopefully we'll see more developers trying to push the number of players in one game higher and higher. I guess this means there could be some truth to that Mario Kart 16 player thing. The only downside? There'll be no way to communicate with the other 31 players you're playing with. Think of it as if an entire army was sent into a warzone... and they were all mute.
More fanboy news! Nintendo apparantly makes nearly $50 US for every Wii sold. Nintendo sure is good at making these money printing machines, huh? I guess the silver lineing in all this is that people still without a Wii could expect a price drop at some point in time.
It's about time a Star Wars game was announced. I'm personally not too interested but it's been expected ever since we saw what the remote was capable of. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be released some time next spring. Funny how Nintendo tries to show us how much the remote can resemble a tennis racket, yet the first thing we think of is a sword and lightsaber.
Oh goody! More overwhelming data in favour of a Wii headset for Nintendo to ignore. Of the 10,000+ readers of IGN's editorial, 98% mentioned they wanted voice chat in their games. Come on Nintendo. Give us what we want for once.
And why not, more news for the fanboys. Nintendo became the 2nd most valuable stock in Japan, miles behind the leader Toyota. So unless you follow the Japanese stock market, ignore this.
And finally, a ridiculous rumour about Bioshock making its way to Wii. Probably once pigs fly, hell freezes over, and Wii gets a headset where we can talk to whoever we want in game. Not saying it wouldn't be a good thing, but I don't think 2K would waste their time in making a Wii port. At least not a good one. A PS3 port is much more likely.
So there you have it. The two weeks in WiiLoaded news that never were. I'm gonna be gone for about another week but hopefully a few things will get posted in here. Til then, don't let the Portal shrivel up and die.

i like having news.
