Anyone recall the Wii's launch, where wiimotes were flying rampant and people were being taken out left and right? Well today, Nintendo announced something that just may have you return that shield you bought. The guys over at the Big N have just unveiled a new peripheral that slides unto your wiimote, and keeps it warm during those long winter nights! Well, not quite. What it actually does is offer up a nice silicon grip so when your hand starts to sweat from the intense tennis match you're having with a buddy, it doesn't fly out of your hand and break your new HDTV. It also protects the wiimote so if it still happens to slip out of your hand, at least you don't have to spend $40+ on another wiimote. So where can you get this bad boy? It comes FREE with the purchase of a Wii console, Wii remotes, or Wii Play (which comes with a wii remote).

"We're always looking for ways to improve our products and make sure everyone has a safe and fun experience."
-George Harrison

Now you may be thinking "Hey, that's not free, I still have to buy things!", and that's where Nintendo offers more good news. If you go to nintendo.com, or call 1-866-431-8367 and you can place your order (if you order them now, the free sleeves won't ship until the week of October 15). All you have to do is put in your console's serial number and you can order up to four sleeves free of charge for your Wiimote collection (even if you only have one wii remote you sly devil). With the wii strap revision a few months back and these new free silicon grips, I foresee more safety when swinging my arms around like a mad man, and a lot less girlfriends with black eyes.

Well this looks way better than the 3rd party ones i have right now, with the ones i have right now the - home and + buttons are so freakin hard to press, but this looks much better.
anyone else see the blue light and instantly think that nintendo had brought a surprise after it was supposed to be released....
Is that a picture of what it really looks like?
I thought the same thing, but it's a neat addition, especially getting them for free.
well if its free, then sign me up
im gonna order 4 just for the hell of it, i doubt I will ever even use it anyways. free stuff is great
I will order four in the end..and then sell them to my dumbass friends. Big Grin
Ugh I went to order them and put in my serial number, then it said 'http 404', so I went back to Nintendo.com and this time logged in before ordering them, and I put in my serial number again and now it says 'you have requested more than the maximum limit per serial number'. Can they match my serial number with my account information though?
I'll get one.. do you think Nintendo of America will give it to a canadian?

I had the same problem--just call them and they'll take your order over the phone, no hassles Big Grin

I love Nintendo's customer service

I had the same problem using the internet channel, but I had broken links. What the heck?
Thanks happynoodleboy. Mine did the same and the rep was really nice and got my order put in. Big Grin
this is getting out of hand.
Is anyone else having any problems or have you all called now? I had a nice lady (sounded hot) place my order for my sleeves, and I didn't have any problems.
Wow what a dumb surprize....i'm getting one.
I think I had the same lady Ricky. Big Grin Did you tell her about your glass balls? I think the site is broke and they just don't know.
The same thing happened to. I'll call them tomorrow.
