Yeah, I really wish we could transfer/save them to the Wii memory instead. Maybe in a future update but who knows.

you have to have a GC card because GC games were made to save their data to a GC memory card. the game recognizes the presence of the memory card and saves the data there. if there's no memory card, the game doesn't know what to do, because the game has no idea what a hard drive is. it's the same thing with the controllers. you can't use a wii-mote to play a GC game because the game has no idea what a wii-mote is. there could be a patch to trick the game into thinking the harddrive is a GC memory card, but i'm almost positive you then wouldn't be able to save to your memory card then. same with transfering data from the card to the drive. you might be able to do it later on, but then the game wouldn't be able to pick up either the card or the drive
this should be a prime example of how stupid video games are. they know only what the programmer tells them. for this, the programmer never told the game how to save to a drive, so you basically can't :\

What if they just had an update where you could transfer GC saves to the Wii's HD and back? I guess it would be a bit of a hassle to go back and forth, but it would be a slight solution... i dunno
alright thanks guys. I rented was gonna rent a GC game (windwaker) from blockbuster but I didn't have a memory card
so I just went out and bought one today (29 bucks... what a ripoff! a used gamecube SYSTEM is only 10 dollars more, sad huh)
where the hell did you buy that memory card? is it enchanted or something?
I'm pretty sure you can get them for less than a pack of cigarettes
at ebgames. damn I guess I probably should have asked for a used one or just gone to a different store because I was looking around and saw them for only (yeah right) 19.99 at other stores. oh well
