is there any way to get rid of lag completely? or at least lower it so that it's not noticeable at all?
if they could do that, then i dont see why online matches couldnt be competitive
Almost all lag will be noticeable to competitive players, that's the problem. I was playing on a HD tv the other day and noticed some lag. And it really threw my game off.
you mean lag from the TV? versus playing on a CRT TV? what you've got there is an HDTV not intended for gaming my friend. when I got my HDTV I went in with my PSOne and a copy of DDR and tested all of the models I was considering to see which ones lagged--the one's that did were, clearly, out of the running.
Lesson to you all: if you're gonna invest in an HDTV, be sure to test it for lag if you're gonna be gaming on it. Good to do this with games that require precise timing (thus why I used DDR)
