Yes, its using Friend Codes. In the online update you see FC's that have less digits than your Wii's code. So they will have individual ones.
For online I'll use everyone? Its not like it'll mean anything.

We don't know how bad the lag will be.
well sakurai said fighting from america to japan will have lag, so Canada too Aussie will have lag nonetheless.
i just hope it doesnt lag too much...like every min you move 1 step will definetly ftl and if everyone keeps lagging out of games...i just hope ill just lag once in a while but not continuously
I didn't get SMC but however much lag that had, we should expect a little less than that.
anytime i play with someone and theres lag, it comes right when im about to do something important/cool like make a goal in msc
if they can get the lag to be lower than what's in MSC, they i will be happy with that cuz i dont think MSC has bad lag at all
I found out how to make minimum lag just close all the windows you have open on your computer it works.
of course. ur comp isnt trying to run so many programs at the same time, so lag is a lot lower

IMO, it's a good idea not to have rankings, due to the fact that there is lag. People will (hopefully) take it less seriously....

I will mainly be fighting randoms, so if there only Canadians/Americans no lag there.
i take every match seriously. whether i know im going to win or lose, especially if i think i might lose
I only take Smash seriously at a competitive level at tournaments or with my crew. Online however I will not take seriously as there is nothing riding on whether I win or lose. Its just some casual Smash. Online will never take the place of serious Smash as a vast majority of serious Smashers will stay dedicated to the tournament scene.
Hell I have two SSBM tournament's already next year. So I don't know how much time I'll have to worry about Brawl.
well technically we dont know if there will be a tournament or not. idk how nintendo could pull it off but im sure its possible, of course America only competing in America etc. unless there is better connection this time around.
Online tournaments will not work. And they DEFINITELY won't work as well as offline tournaments.
They won't succeed. Online is going to be good for friendlies (ie. relaxed matches) but nothing too serious is likely to spawn from online unless they really make it sound more appealing and ditch the lag.
