If you do not agree with Nintendo's marketing strategy, then you are probably not their target market. PSP aimed for the hardcore, DS aimed for casual... and we see where that went.... same with PS3 and Wii. Nintendo is doing the smart thing... breaking down the lines between gamers and non-gamers and increasing the market. If that means they are no longer targeting you, at least understand why and give them a little bit of respect for it. People vote with dollars, not online petitions, and so far, the dollars are flowing to Nintendo.
No we didn't. But we HAD hoped Nintendo would have a little respect for its fans. But so far it doesn't seem so.

I completely agree. It is a gimmick, EVEN if they do make some things work great on this gimmick. Online is a joke.

But remember Joker, there is a fine line between where a business starts and a fanbase ends. I think the name "Hardcore Gamers" is wrong. It should be called "Established Gamers"

Established gamer sounds cool. It does consolidate most core gamers, but it also does kinda sound like it makes more sense. And I'm not at all surprised by the new SKU. The holidays are coming, that's when parents spend oodles of money on their kids. Nintendo is smart. They can always introduce somethin else later. And they prolly will. Whether or not it will benefit us remains to be seen. But new stuff is almost always good.
For all we knows its wii play'n'learn to kill mercilessly.

You guys really shouldn't expect anything big or good, or not stupid from these rumors.
Joker has a point, and I understand that completely. But that doesn't mean we can't be disappointed at their choices.
It's not our fault companies are here to make money, instead of make us happy.
I personally haven't, and probably won't, buy a Wii.
Why? Cause i knew Nintendo was taking a new approach, and the GCN sucked if you asked me, so I was weary of buying a Nintendo console.
I continued holding off buying it when I saw that they where only releasing "mini-game" collections, with a few of their regular downsized, easy as he||, franchises. (Hats off to TP on that one)
Currently, none of this gens consoles are appealing to me, so I'm sticking with my Gaming PC and DS. <--Contrary to popular belief, all handhelds are casual, thus the fact they're handhelds and not stand alone consoles :p
I've been a nintendo'er all my life(i dont know what u want to call it).
And i hate what there doing with the wii. Most of the games comming out suck and they have horrible online, they wont give us wjat we want like a hd or mic. There playing it way to safe and not letting the core gamers have much fun.
the 360 is looking way more appealing, even if u have to pay for online. There getting all the good games, and may end up getting mgs4, and maybe ff. Plus voice chat, a hd, u can listen to your own music while playing anygame. I just dont wanna waste anymore money on a gaming console. If there was a trade your wii in for 360, ide do it.
