Is the lag really that bad. I'm kind of discouraged to try it now.
I've either experienced consistent 1-second controller lag, where I'd hit the button and a second later my character would do it, or if the controller is great, consistent gameplay lag, where everything slows down a bit or skips like an awfully damaged CD.

Either way, it's impossible to play precisely and ruins a good deal of the strategy. I usually resort to slamming on moves I know will hit, which consists of forward smash! forward smash! forward smash! forward smash! with maybe a down smash for measure.
Thinking earlier what to do for everything ftl.

Wow charging it for that long time would probabaly OHKO someone!
causes a lot of damage though. :/
I've found that Dedede's hammer charge is a really good aerial attack.

At no point is it ever a surprise, but you can usually catch someone in the arc if you're off the ground.
Is Ike's fully charged Eruption a OHKO?
It might be, but honestly, who'll be stupid enough to find out? Its about as likely to happen in the middle of a battle as Roy's Flare Blade was in Melee.
Same chances as getting hit by a charged Jet hammer..except you walk really slowly in that one.
I've hit my friend with a relatively well-charged eruption. You get knocked straight up, and start it on your way down.

People think that the blade has to hit them, but the issuance of fire is enough. It took him out, but his % was pretty high anyway.
yeah, this game seems to have more hidden hit boxes. i've noticed that with Lucario.

I like the speed increase of the rocket hammer in exchange for maneuverability.
