Turns out the new Wii Balance Board, will have a weight limit of 136kg or roughly 299 pounds...i just made it
feel bad for the 'biggest loser' rejects...they cant get Wii Fit...maybe Nintendo will put out an X-large version

Thats a dumb idea. If you are over 300 pounds shouldnt you want to be losing weight too? Any reasoning to this?
Well I think that people trying to lose weight should look to other alternatives rather than a Wii video game.
i think to make a board that could hold 300+ person it may add siginificantly to the cost
Ya i mean who knows what kind of support would have to be included. Maybe some steal girders involved?
300 pounds is still alot. i'm sure there are lots of people that weigh 200-300 pounds that would like to lose some of that, and if you think of it there really isn't that many people that weigh over 300 pounds lol.
dont most scales like this only hold 300lbs? yeah, theres the scales at doctors offices and in gyms that hold a lot more, but they're a good solid base and metal. seriously. if youre over 300lbs, why would you step on a piece of plastic thinking it wouldnt break?
BIG BLACK!!!! IS OVER 300!!!!
lol
JENNY CRAIGS!!
Honestly if anyone weighs over 300 lbs, they're probably too lazy to even pick up a wiimote...
Yeah, that's a pretty good weight limit. If you weigh more than that... then wow.
Woot! go me!
I'm about 70kg lighter than the limit!
lol, i'm 180 pounds from being ineligable to play this game :stickfigurerepresentingwenis:
ROFL @ the idea of an XL version of the wii balance board

Since the thing will be made of of plastic I'm not sure who would think 299lbs would be to little. I'm sure we'll hear from some group saying it's somehow biased, but then maybe Nintendo can release a Wii-fit board that's made out of reinforced steel.
I'm surprised it will support 299, I would have expected something like 240-250lbs.
i wouldnt be surprised if it fails from repeated use around 290 lbs
i wouldnt be surprised if it fails from repeated use around 290 lbs
I'm guessing the game coming with it with specify that they only want people to be on it for a certain amount of time a day. That way they can keep from having the board break and sending someone out a window (crazy yeah, but people sue over stupid stuff).
im 99 pounds from the limit i couldnt be arsed to work it out in kg. and just to let you know "I ATE ALL THE PIEES!"
EDIT: Woo 250 posts

!
300lb is surprisingly large. Like gft, I expected the mid to lower 200's lb-wise. If they're smart, they will market this as much more than a toy/game. If they can use it to easily, seriously, and accurately track exercise/weight info, it could take off among non-gamers.
[Puts on my doom and gloom hat]
I don't think it will get much more respect than any other game associated device. I could easily be wrong though..
I wouldn't think the board would hold 300 either. If it's made out of similar stuff as the wiimote and the console, then it definitely can't hold that much. If you weigh that much you need to be going to the gym, not your television...
uh... I weigh a mighty 120 lbs...

I'm 5'11"

soooo skinny
