I wont get it till next year most likely as Unreal 2004 is my main target.

Yup and Crysis is mine! Big Grin And i do have a copy of UT2004 somewhere although i doubt i can go online with it. And the most new pc's now are capable of handling games like UT2004 and Guild Wars.

True.

I could never afford or be allowed a crysis PC at this point.

How come you doubt online for 2004?

I doubt its legal, my friend burned it for me to try it out, that and i don't think i can find it anymore.

And I should be able to run crysis on at least medium settings thank god. Next pc i build though (not for a couple more years yet) will definaltely be able to run at high.

Wow, I will just be enviousSmile

Windows 98, Me, 2000, XP
Pentium III
AMD Athlon
1.2GHz
128MB RAM
5.5GB hard drive space
16x DVD drive
Windows-compatible video card
Windows-compatible sound card (Dolby Digital Interactive Content Encoder required for Dolby Digital audio)
DirectX 9.0b (included on disc)
Internet connection at 33.6 Kbps

Minimum specs according to play.com....Will either of those laptops be able to handle this?

You sure?

I want to be definate over all thisIgnorance is bliss

I will try to go with the second, better then the first and will be able to handle Unreal 2004.

All I need it for is just Unreal 2004, internet and such.

Just take a look at the recommended specs for the game and compare them to the specs for the laptop, if your not sure what your looking at post them here and either i or someone else will be able to tell you. And you wanna make sure you look at the recommended over the minumum, things will run alot smoother for you.

All I can find is the minimum so I will look into some more and try to find the recommended.

I know most of the things I am looking at just not good at comparing the things such as Graphics card and CPU.

Yeah mainly pay attention to the video memory like most laptops now have 128MB or 256MB vid cards. If your still not sure just post the specs here and someone will be able to help ya. If ya do hopefully I see it before I hop on and play some Battlefield 2142.

Yeah sure, I am still undecided of what laptop I am considering, those earlier were two quick ones I found so nothing much.

So If I am unsure of it in future il just drop a message here.

Have an idea of where I may find the specs for the game?

The official site has changed into the Unreal 3 official site so thats out of question,

Google is your friend.

I can't look right now since i'm at work and can't get to much gaming stuff so......yeah.

All I can find from google is the reviews, no mention of the specs.

C|net has sometihng about the specs I think, but it spoke of multiplayer and producer etc. Under the catagory of specifications which I found odd..

I'll look when I get home.....get off in 15 min so shouldn't be too long.

Never mind, after some gathering I found:

System: 1.2GHz or faster or equivalent
RAM: 256 MB
Video Memory: 32 MB
Hard Drive Space: 5500 MB

Thats all that was said for recommended.

Is this for UT2004?

And any new laptop now will be able to handle much more than this. The lowest speed processor i've seen lately is 1.8 Ghz. Also if possible if I may suggest stay away from the discount processors like the celerons. Definately not meant for gaming but will work in a pinch and no other options are available.

Yes, it is for UT2004.

I will just see what I can find but thanks for avoiding celeron. I am not looking for a gaming laptop, I am just looking for your average day to day laptop that would be able to handle the odd 1 or 2 games such as football manager or UT2004.
