This will probably start a series of Mario Party DS like there has been on the consoles.

The AI in the game is incredibly inconsistent and at times you'll be leading for the entire game when all of a sudden a CPU gets 2 stars and steals two of your own in one turn or stuff like that. And there's no bonus stars at the end like I remember in the console games and it kind of sucks.
The amount of boards is really limited. Nothing really spectacular.
Yes there are bonus stars, only, not in story mode.
The minigame battle mode is fun. Rocket bridge or something.
And yes, I had a CPU losing the whole game, then on his last turn managed to get 4 stars... That made me mad.

Never really liked the Mario Party series, its impossible to get “good” at the game. Because even if you win every mini game you can still lose by some random chance or landing on the wrong tile.

even though I have every other Mario Party game and will get this one also, it does aggrivate me when something random like a 4 star swing happens

It might be hard to do online with Mario Party, there is a bit of lag on this one when playing p2p mario party....and I get lag on the zelda ds online. That might be what's making them wait. Until it can be better. nothing sucks more than getting lag on the zelda battle. *edited to add*
BTW I love this game! I think it's got fun mini games and it's a lot of fun to play with other people. I am really impressed with the first DS offering.
But then again, I love most of the Mario Party games (I don't like advance or 5 that much though). 8 sometimes gets annoying with the controls being a bit off.

I enjoy the odd play on mario party games but i just find them really boring and simple nowadays.
i have this game and find it entertaining but its very easy. i dont know something about the tasks/mini games seems too simple for me and very fast! i dont remember N64 being like that when i used to play MP back in the day.
however i still enjoy it and play it with my bf on his DS- you can play via download and play if the other person doesnt have the game.
its good for more than 1 person [duh lol] hense it wouldnt be a party....pretty lame one if you played by yourself

yeah its quite popular. i got it on the day it was released through downloads "the store"
its been sold out and virtually impossible to get. i dont know i dont think its THAT spectacular and my bf doesnt understand the phenominon either. but then again, mario party has always been cool- just not a fan of this one in particular but i do play it
Wow! I really didn't think that Mario Party DS would be the type of game that would sell out in shops. So is it actually any good then? I thought it would be a bit simple.
it didnt score that good of a review since alot of the people are saying the games are repeative which now that i read that, i noticed it more and more. i do like the game though and its fun to play my bf on it thats all that matters i suppose
Lol cool. I wasn't expecting much good from the reviews. I don't think I'm going to buy it though. And I DEFINITELY don't think it is worth £30.
I'll probably get it, primarily because I have three younger siblings all with DS's. Online would be nice though. Good concept for a sequel?

The lack of online for Mario Party is probably one of the stupidest things Nintendo has done in past couple of months.
