Do I love me a real fighting game. Funny that the Street Fighter 2 Hi-Def project doubled as a way to gauge our reaction to a true sequel!
I stopped playing the Street fighter 2 games when I started playing Street Fighter 3 third strike on my Dream cast

Wow, an actual Street Fighter sequel? Don't see one of those every day. I wonder if they'll do like they did with Street Fighter 3 and chuck out all the old characters (bar Ryu and Ken, or course)?
Can't watch the vid right now but this is definately a must get, One of the only fighting games I truly love.

although it's just a trailer, the characters seemed animated a little to western-ish.
Realism's a good thing, that hyper-anime style I see far too often in stuff like Bleach makes me vomit. Big Ol' Bug-Eyes and tiny little mouths like they suck all their meals through straws n' all.

Im hopeing for Gulity gear/Hukto no ken recent game stlye visuals on the charicters and Capcom vs SNK 2 Stlye back grounds

Lol never seen a dodge in a 2d fighter, all i've seen is a block. Plus i don't dodge, just counterattack.
You've never played an SNK fighter? Their King of Fighters series has had a dodge button since inception. Over the years it's changed, as at first it just dodged projectiles by pushing yourself into another plane, but recently it's become a rolling dodge.

i think youre referring to Fatal Fury, but only their earlier games. the last FF game i played was Mark of the Wolves and it didnt have the two-plane stages.

Fatal Fury actually HAD two planes to jump between before Garou. King of Fighters just had you momentarily slip into the other plane as a projectile avoidance move, then be forced back into the foreground.
that has to be one of the coolest trailers ive seen. beautiful.
from this thread i just found out about it but i love the street fighter's series. when does it come out and what system? im sure theres other information then that video

Well the two planes never rly was a ture dodge (you could hit the ofter player back on to the same plane)(It annoyed the hell outa me when the computer jumps back and forth bettwin them)

But with KOF after the dodge you could attack with a simple attack
Then in KOF 97 in came the roll (it was good for avoidin Orochis fire balls)
In order to do this roll/dodge you just pressed LP+LK

Now with SF3 they put in a parry command (tap towards)
