New RUMOR to hit the wire for Super Smash Bros Brawl today.
On a Japanese blog apparently run by a programmer for Super Smash Bros Brawl, they've released two new secrets about Super Smash Bros Brawl.
One of the secrets are that each level will feature destructible terrain that will burn, blow up or even crumble away.
The second secret is that characters will be customizable. Each character will have an array of new moves which you can assign and adjust including speed and power statistics, and even the ability to customize costumes.
It is still unknown as to whether or not this will be included for online play, but it would be an awesome feature if it is.
Some new details have emerged about the new Smash Bro's outing on the Wii console.
The details include -
- Any non Nintendo characters in the game MUST have appeared on a Nintendo platform.
- The speed of the game will be moderate compared to the cube version.
- Every characters ability is being re-defined from the beginning in order to allow more freedom in the air.
Lets hope they have still more to come.
Masahiro Sakurai the creator old SSB. has decided to have Brawl set up so it works with the controls of the old game cube: no waving about of the remote required. However you can toggle between using the motion sensor and using the old-fashioned control system.
Thats not bad really, personally I prefer to use the old controls, imagine it exactly the same as SSBM only with better graphics, more characters, and an all- round cooler game.
''We found that trying to implement too much motion-sensory functionality can get in the way of the game. We're looking at keeping the control simple, as it has been,'' said Sakurai. ''The Wii hardware has sockets for the Game Cube controller, too. So I'll just say now that you may not want to throw away your GCN controller yet.''
It is now official: Nintendogs aren't a playable character, they are an item that blocks the screen.
Sakurai states that Wario really does have a fart attack as implied in the trailer, and Snake can really go in his box.
''We thought a lot about what to do with Snake and his moves in Super Smash Bros. Brawl,'' said Sakurai. ''As you all know Snake walks around with a gun, but with Super Smash Bros. I didn't want to bring in a lot of real weapons. So that was a real challenge. But conversely, if we could use things like rocket launchers and other explosives, not only would that be fitting for Snake, but it would work for the other characters. But who knows. Maybe Snake will exclusively use explosives throughout the game.''
oh and the characters from SSBM (Super smash bros. melee) is in there! (except mr.gameandwatch, iceclimbers, and younglink)
They might screw up on the game by making all of these new things keep it the same! its becoming to ARCADE!
so what if its arcade. ppl say that as if they wont play it if theres an arcade style. plus i hope the customizeable move sets are true. this way you might be able to choose between using fox's staff or not. thats just one example. and with this it will add some strategy to the game.

also samus will be be in the game and Zero-Suit Samus is not a whole entire character. all we know is that you can go from samus to zero-suit samus under certain condtion, which many ppl think is when to charges her arm gun all the way and fires. i think their trying to eliminate alternate versions of the character. for example mario and dr. mario.

and a question i have is why wouldn't they say how many players can play at once. does this mean that they are possibly expanding the # of players. hmmm.
oh I just pasted news from http://www.vggen.com whoops forgot to quote!
oh on this link there's the screenshots! A LOT of them!!!! O.O http://www.gamespot.com/wii/action/super...index.html
U gotta work on those Triple Posting...
It is sounding like a very interesting game, that whole customising characters things sounds interesting...

Also Ridley, WindWaker Link and Bowser Jr are not confirmed characters, that radio interview still has no solid proof from Sakurai himself.

As for those rumours it'd be interesting if their true... destructable terrain doesn't exactly sound like something I'd picture in SSB... but I spose its up to them, I hope its a feature that I can turn off... if I want destructable terrain I'll play Budokai or something.

I would of said that but doesnt really matter but it will have a little of Dead or alive in it and SSBB niss by saying DOA I meant they better make it good if there going to do it

hm........I hope the rumors are true....and with the thing from the radio I herd of it just being a rumor but I know radio wouldn't lie! Toungue or at least not all the time! Toungue
I hope it is true as well, radio could be lying... we'll have to wait for Sakurai's word or at the latest the Tokyo Game Show.
TOKYO GAME SHOW?!?!?! IT'S IN TOKYO!?!!? NOW I WANNA GO TO TOKYO EVEN MORE NOW!!!!!!!!!! Big Grin *packing personal crap in suitcase*

Yes the Tokyo Game Show is in Tokyo, and I presume Brawl may make an appearence there. The TGS is being held in a few months I think, last I heard its when Nintendo would reveal the final bits of information about the Wii (ie. Price, Launch Date) so I'd suspect Sakurai will let some Brawl info slip.

its being held at the end of September.

and i hope some of these rumors are true, and some aren't... At least like was mentioned before, some of them being able to turn on and off...

ill wait for official word before i belive any bit of this though.
Yeah I thought it was around then somewhere. I will also wait for confirmation to rumours, because much like the Wii, there are lots of rumours bound to be spread about Brawl.

Having certain things as being on or off is a necessity if they are going to think of including destructable environments and such, because I don't want it ALWAYS happening... occasionally it'd be fun but I'd like it to be an option.
end of september - *groans*

i was hoping to be unwrapping the see-through wrapping on te boxx of the wii by then

b4 you were against the idea, so what changed

I decided that if I was able to turn it off then its fine with me, that way I can toggle between it... if there is no option I don't want it, but if the option is there then they can put it in if they wish.
lol yeah really cool Smile but bad if it hits you Sad
I would like for the broken/explode thing to be continuios! Smile
I like it when it's sorta confusing, so my aponite (I think I spelled it wrong) is confused I'm already used to it and I win! Smile Big Grin
