While we finally got to see release dates for several anticipated DS games yesterday, a couple of noteworthy games were missing from the list. What happened to Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass?

Hotel Dusk, the latest from Trace Memory creator Cing, is still slated for a November 24th release in Europe. Why did it drop off of the release list for Q4? Good question. So far, Nintendo hasn?t commented on the topic.

Although Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass never had a more concrete release date than ?Quarter 4,? it has now dropped off of Nintendo?s release list altogether. According to The Hylia, Phantom Hourglass was not shown at Comic-Con because Nintendo only wanted to focus on 2006 software. Although some have speculated that they are keeping the date a secret so that they can release it on the same day as Wii/GCN?s Twilight Princess, it is probably safe to assume that Phantom Hourglass has been delayed to sometime in 2007.

A delay for Phantom Hourglass is not all that surprising when you look at a long history of delays for Legend of Zelda games. Nintendo will hold on to a Zelda title until they get everything just right. If it has been delayed, then we can probably expect great things from this title.

Speaking of DS delays, Final Fantasy III was also missing from a recent list of American release dates from Square Enix. The list of dates encompassed July through the end of September, which was when Final Fantasy III was to make its American debut. It was rumored a little while back that Square wanted to push FF III to October so that sales of Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime would not be cannibalized. It now looks like there may be some truth to that. We haven?t heard anything official from Square yet, but Final Fantasy III is probably on track for an October release in the US. Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime is still set for release on September 19th.

the delays dont bother me
Delays are a part of gaming so I guess we have to cop it, if a game is delayed its usually to make it better so thats fine with me.
if i had a whole crap load of money on me and was getting it on release day then i would be pissed but if they need a little more time to make the game then by all means make it as good as possible
I dont mind the delays...gives me more time to play with my Wii titles...
