Impressions of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games

This was definitely worth playing, and really was a nice bit of fun, when we weren't expecting much. While there are some games in it that seem as simple as swinging your arm (ping pong, like tennis on Wii Sports) or taking aim and pressing a button (skeets), they aren't quite that easy. You need to have perfect timing with the hurdles, the javelin, and skeets to name a few. Running and swimming may seem like they would only require you to wave your arm up and down (the faster you go, the faster your character), but wait! Don't forget about your stamina! If you don't breathe while you're swimming, you'll stop moving in order to catch your breath. If you don't throw your arm down and press the buttons quick enough, you foul with the javelin throw (joker and i never could quite get it down). You get the idea. We were only able to play through one circuit (three events), but we got to watch a bunch of other people play and see some other events (like fencing, trampoline, etc). There were some events that remained locked, but you could see from the variety we were shown and allowed to play that they're really reaching out there and not sticking to the typical "sports" games and races. While the nunchuck can be used, it's not necessary to play; the Nintendo girls even suggested not using it.
O NOES! THE BOOTH GIRLS SAID NOT TO USE IT!

Screw the booth girls, they sounded annoying as Hell anyway. Everytime I watched a Brawl video and heard them shout about pressing one, I wanted to punch them in the face. As for the game itself, it always interested be but as nothing more than a rental. And I think that I shall hold myself to that and only rent it. I just don't feel like paying full price for it.
Same here. Were they hot at least? (Yes I'm aware this is LZ Toungue)
Don't knock the booth girls... they were the highlight of my trip Toungue
Maybe if you gagged them, then yes. Lol.

Sonic & Mario was never even a rent for me so it'll take quite a bit to bump it up to that.
Mario Party at the Olympics.
lol @ cloud...

i think it will be better then most of you think.

just because people regardless of how recycled the games are; love Mario Part games.

they will look at this as another one of those games just with Sonic and his friends in the games. its ill sell alot. the reviews will be mediocore at best.
i find it different from mario party games in that you dont have to go through the board...it really is a series of events, and the team (or player) with the most points wins. think Mario Kart but instead of different courses, it has different objectives.

i really liked it. yeah, you've probably seen things like it before, and it may not be a game that's for hardcore gamers, but its fun and easy to get into with a group of people, or by yourself. it entertained me.
i liked this game more then i thought i would, and i wouldn't write it off totally. I only got the chance to play the Archery game, and that was a lot of fun and took a good amount of skill to perform well in. so give it a chance before you assume its awful. honestly how is that any different then the people who automatically write off Wii because they think just that its Nintendo its a kids toy?

That wasnt entirely there fault. Yes were they a little over board sometimes, but thats what there payed to do. And as far as the pressing 1 with the smash ball, don't anyone dare get on them for that, because they only screamed that because most of the morons playing the game didn't get the idea of pressing the freaking 1 button once. its really easy and even though they were told like 8 times before they even got up there, they still didn't get it.

Plus, they were pretty hot. the tall Brunette one and the shorter Asian one were my particular favorites. lol

well thats whats Nintendo want to target, Family/Group oriented games for everyone to play.. so if youre a hardcore gamer youll like it but just for a few mins then toss it away like rubbish. as for those Casual gamers, they will eat this game up
Why does every game have to be a hardcore game? addmitidly not many of the wii games have been. but its ok to like a game that isnt a oldschool hard core game.

And dont take that last comment as meaning that i dont like hardcore games, i love them.
You can edit your post next time instead of double posting if you forgot to mention somethingSmile

I'm still unsure about getting this game, I can wait for Brawl for Mario and Sonic to go against each other. Was the DS version of the game there at the expo?
