Honestly, were you actually expecting Nintendo to drop the price of something that's still selling like crazy and making them tons of money? I guess that regardless of how obvious it may seem, it's still news when Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata feels the need to come out and tell us what we already know. Iwata told the Associated Press Nintendo's "absolutely not considering a price cut."
In the same interview Iwata mentioned that Wii owners will soon be able to send gifts in the form of Virtual Console games to friends. The AP article doesn't go into much detail but I guess it's safe to assume that the gift giver will pay for the game with their Wii Points on their console and then the recipient will get a message telling them that their friend has sent them NES Baseball. And in entirely unrelated news, if this feature is out by the end of the month, it will be my birthday on Sunday...

Sounds interesting. I pretty much figured that there wouldn't be a price cut on the wii for quite awhile. And the VC gift thing seems like a pretty decent idea.
The VC gift sounds really cool. It would be nice to get a free VC game from a friend. And why they did drop the price in Canada?
Happy Birthday Marko!
If this feature isn't out, what should I get you, a new chainsaw?
Haha yeah this would be really sweet if I had more than one friend on my wii

, its my own fault though cause i keep forgetting to post my wii code on here.

Meh, that price drop can't exactly be a price drop, that has a large economic factor behind it.
Also, March 26th, never forget everyone
how we know what we'll do with those VC games we don't care to have anymore...pawn them off on a friend

Im glad there isnt going to be a price cut anytime soon because i would be kinda mad. The gifts are cool, i think Nintendo should use it to send us all a game! lol

It's because the Canadian dollar is now stronger than the US dollar. So instead of people going down south on a weekend trip to save a little extra cash on their systems the PS3 and Wii got price cuts.
Well, with strong sales I wasn't expecting a price drop anytime soon. This "VC gifts" thing sounds weird, but cool. I presume the price is paid but we have to download it?
Yay! Hopefully someone sends me Super Metroid for Christmas >_> lol.
Also, interesting news. And who would even think Nintendo would drop the price of the Wii? Its video game crack at the moment.
I just thought of something. Since we will be able to send VC titles to friends. What if the friend is in another region that has a different VC??? Could someone from Japan send VC titles only available on the Japanese VC????!
Oooh. I like that idea. But I doubt you'll be able to do it. Nintendo won't let the transaction go through if say, I were to try sending LMX a game that isn't on the Aussie VC yet I'd probably just get an error message.
Maybe he'd be able to download it once its released on the Australian VC? And at no charge?
Here's a question, what if you've downloaded the game you want to send to someone already? What then? Do you have to send it then re-buy it?
That's what I was wondering. Presumably yes

OOOOoohh yeah!!
What if someone sends an American-only VC game to a European console?
That person sending has to pay the import price for that VC game...
