never owned a game cube, but im tempted to buy some of the game cube titles for my wii. for instance mario kart crash team racing or crash kart thing lol and maybe monkey ball
my main question is about the controller, i understand i cant use my classic controller with game cube games
so i will have to fork out for a couple of gamecube controllers.
ive checked on ebay and its quite hard to find any genuine nintendo ones, but there are hundreds of white none nintendo ones like the ones linked here
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-x-Game-Cube-Cont...dZViewItem
are these any good / worth buying? they are pretty cheap so im expecting they would be rubbish.
my other prefered option would be wireless, is there a wireless solution for the game cube that i can use with 4 contollers?
are all games compatible with the wii?
I got a white one from Game, absolute rubbish. Don't waste your money like I did.
first of all, as a rule of thumb for me, i never buy a controller that isnt made by the original manufacturer, they tend to be absolute crap! but there is good news, this rule is broken is some strange isntances, and for this situation what you want are Wavebirds, they are a great wireless controller that works well for the gamecube and the wii. but sadly you may need to fork out a little more cash to get them, and as you found with regular remotes, they are harder and harder to find.
I tried playing SSBM the other day and felt like it was torture playing with a wired gamecube controller, which makes me sad cause i know i will want a gamecube controller for SSBB after playing it, so im gonna have to shell out cash for 4 Wavebirds.
Oh and yes every gamecube title is backwards compatible with the Wii, so you can play them, unlike 360 and PS3
cool thatnks for the tip on the wave bird, can get one new from play for about £24 not too bad, will see if i can find any cheap game cube games and maybe get one or two, possibly on the chrismas list.
i dont think ive ever had anything with the amount of controllers that are possibly going to be attached to my wii lol!
it suprises me that nintendo arnt pushing a new smaller gamecube wireless contoller for this in white to pocket a little more cash off the wii products the wavebird as usefull as it is looks massive, and in todays standards you cold easily have a game cube controller wireless looking the same as a wired one at not much extra cost i would imagine
i got the wire bird i think eb games used works fine but no rumble....
I just went to EB games and bought a used wired one for 16 bucks and its working fine in my Wii
first of all, as a rule of thumb for me, i never buy a controller that isnt made by the original manufacturer,
*Hides his hori controllers*
*Hides his guitar hero controller*
Dont forget you will need a Gc memory card to save gc games
what do people think about these?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/ThrustMaster-NW-...04-9812418
not to pricey and i believe available in game uk they look neater than the wavebird and i remember a thread about them a while ago anyone buy one and used one, could compare one to the wavebird?
here is the thread on wii loaded
http://www.wiiloaded.com/3rd-Party-wirel...-11727-wii
looks like the support rumble too and a half the price of the wavebirds and white, hink i might buy one to try it out!
here is some more info i got from thrustmasters website.
"Today more and more game launches for the Wii™ are retro hits or golden oldies originally created for the likes of Nintendo®NES, Nintendo® Super NES, Nintendo ®, 64 and Nintendo ® GameCube. Thrustmaster has created a game pad that will allow gamers to use one game pad for multiple genres of games.
The T-Wireless NW is the first programmable and vibrating wireless gamepad allowing users to play Virtual Console™, GameCube and Wii* games on the Wii! It uses 2.4GHz wireless technology which provides a very respectable 10 metres range. Wireless play is the buzz word in gaming today!
The T-Wireless NW is fully programmable thanks to the “Mapping” function which allows users to reassign all buttons, mini-sticks and the D-pad to ensure a truly customized gaming experience. There are also two functions which will really help gamers maximize their gaming experience: “Slow” which allows the player to slow down action and “Turbo” which means the player only needs to press a button to get a power boost rather than making multiple and rapid thumb presses.
To top it all off, this gamepad has great ergonomics with a shape that is natural to hold. The rubber coated handles and joysticks ensure superior grip and comfort too."
I got a MadCatz one that works just fine. I only really use it for Smash though most of the time.

I got a Black controller with my cube (a while back).
My cousin got a purple cube so we also have a purple controller.
I then bought another controller, wildcats or something, it was chunky...served its time but is prone to go crazy.
hate the mad catz one i had to return 3 controllers be4 i chose to pay the diff for a real one
ill get a memory card off ebay probably, found anoher wirless controller in game today

looks exactly the same as this only wireless
http://www.game.co.uk/Wii/Hardware/Acces...Wii-White/
im guessing however this is the one lee bought which he thinks is shat so might steer clear
just pre ordered two thrustmaster ones from amazon, total cost inc delivery £28 which isnt bad at all really concidering it would be practically the same for two classic controllers
should arrive somewhere around 2nd novemeber
Nice, i need to dig mine out, I've got 5 of them sitting around d:
Well maybe only 4 now, 2 wavebirds, an orange wired and a purple wired, had a black one but the dog chewed through the cable when he was a pup.
Darn puppies!! they get to everything!
No kidding i was so mad at the time cause i loved my black controller! I got over it though. Especially when the puppy looked all sadlike at me.
