hell yes. i've been looking forward to this movie for so many years. Iron Man has been one of my top super hero characters since i first saw him. he's been under the radar for most of his lifespan, but just now getting into the spotlight where he deserves to be shown. in my opinion, he's one of the greatest comic book characters created. i hope this movie won't disappoint

P.S. the animated Iron Man movie was done rather well. if you haven't seen it yet, go get it.

What self respecting fan boy hasn't seen the movieWink

The Animated series was the best animated marvel series too, theme tunes kicked major ass.

When I get my new laptop I am going to torrent both seasons of the original animated series, I would of used this laptop but it is used by family so yeah I didn't want to use torrents this time round.

But Yes Iron Man > Life.

(Do you mind fixing my tags, I am not used to the wl tagging system yet :X)

would if i were mod of this area. have to get LZ to check on that or a super-mod/admin. mods can only change things in the boards they moderate. think all you need to do is use lower case lettering tho. shouldn't be case restricted, but may be the solution. otherwise, delete your self created tags and in the full edit page, use the tags above the text insertion box. they always work long as you remember to close them.

but yes, the animated series was awesome. i absolutely loved seeing Iron Man's different suits. i think the greatest one was actually never used. i'm pretty sure it was called the Samurai Armor. basically it was black with silver wings/spikes on it. more ninja-esque than samurai, but still totally bitchin'. only problem with the series was the only time it came on was like 5 or 6am saturdays. i'm down for saturday cartoons, but no way i'm getting up at 5 for one, especially when the next good cartoon comes on like 4 hrs later. i may see about torrenting the series later

i am a bit skeptical about the movie tho. the last director i've seen doing the movie (Jon Favreau) doesn't have any experience with high-end movies. he's mostly done prime-time TV. i don't see how a sitcom/drama director can do well for a comic book action film, but i've been surprised before. only thing he has going for him is Daredevil, which wasn't necessarily bad, but far from the best comic book movie

Iron Man > War Machine > Daredevil > other heroes, so yeah I loved the daredevil film, had a great tone to it.

I thought the animated movie was great but found some of the cgi stuff kind of iffy, suppose I was just used to 2d Iron Man.

I might be picking up a copy of 'civil war' soon, it'll be a good read from what I have learnt of it, you ever read it?

Yeah, I know about the modding thing just thought you were a MOD of this section, guess not.

nope i'm the resident Nintendo mod for Wii, DS and classic consoles. if it doesn't have a Nintendo name on it, i don't mod it Toungue

i may know what you're talking about with the 3D CGI in the Iron Man animated film. slightly noticable, but quickly forgotten because the movie just kicked so much ass. haha

the graphics on the live action differ so much. sometimes i see Iron Man and he looks pretty crappy. other times the suit looks amazing. hard to tell what the real thing will be. hopefully the amazing looking one tho Big Grin

i'm glad they stick with Iron Man's story fairly well though. always the same situation. blown up, forced to make weapons but makes armor instead to escape and survive the wounds, then uses armor (and better versions of it) to fight crime. i can't remember who the Iron Monger is tho. been so long since i've seen the series i don't remember anyone, and i've never been one to read actual comics. for shame i know. a geek who doesn't read comics
The animated series revolved around Mandarin and his band of evil people, I think iron monger made an appearance however.

Wiki Talks: Iron Monger
Apparently they're making a trilogy and Mandarin will only appear in the 3rd movie, Hope this movie will rock so that we can see the Mandarin in the 3rd episode.
It rocks all right, unfortunately it's a condensed version of the Comicon trailer which was much longer. Cool
The movie.

It rawkd

Way better then Spider Man 3 and has set the bar for both Hulk 2 and Batman Dark Knight
I agree with JM. I loved Iron Man and it is in my top 3 superhero movies of all time. The main reason I liked it was Robert Downey Jr because he was fantastic in this movie. Most superheros have some kind of sob story involved that gives the movie slow parts that become boring but not Iron Man. It was pretty smooth all the way through and I think Tony Stark is one of the better superheros in terms of character. He's cool, funny, and just better than the other superheros. If you haven't seen this movie yet then SEE IT NOW!
Yup. I have to agree. Iron Man just goes against the stereotype of superheroes. They have to be a goody 2 shoes and some how obtain there powers outta no where. It is much better than Spiderman 3 and was a excellent movie all around. I would see it twice..but then my parents would think that im an idiot...but at least there is a guaranteed sequel in the works. Big Grin

dont forget swingers and elf, he did those movies and they were awesome

I went and saw the movie at a 10am matinee on Sunday, and I have to say it's the best Marvel/DC/superhero movie I've seen.  I liked how everything that was done could probably happen today and it wasn't so outlandish that your trying to look for mistakes in the film.

I did think that Gwyneth Paltrow's acting was a little weak toward the end when they were at Stark Industries and Tony told her to do that thing with the generator.  Yeah, that wasn't Paltrow's best moment, but everything else was strong. Iron Man gets an A+

--------------------------BTW

Here's a fun fact.  Peter Billingsley who's an executive producer on the Iron Man film is actually Ralphie from "A Christmas Story"

Robert Downey did an outstanding job. From being a drugie to a A class actor. I mean a lot of his parts didnt have human people for him to talk to, yet he pulled it off as if it was real. The biggest part of the move was the visual effects, i remember when SpiderMan had me just mesmorized, IronMan has me believing that eveything in my house is damn near obsolete. I want that computer. *drools*

and that Hologram that makes even the Star Treks holograms jealous
Did you catch this at the end of the movie?

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3TLNu4G6XQg&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3TLNu4G6XQg&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
I didn't know they had anything at the end of the movie but that was awesome!
uh huh, I knew it was going to happen, and if it's done as well as Iron Man, then the X-men better beware, because The Avengers will kick butt.
Right...

Personally I expected Iron man 2 to cover Starks alcoholism. When he goes all depressed and an alcoholic Rhodes has to wear the famous suit. Rhodes gets carried away and power trips so Stark builds a new suit and stop Rhodes and he ends up receiving the second suit under the name 'war machine'. That's how the comics ran and I thought the second film would do that with maybe a random added bad guy like Blacklash he is the single greatest villain ever :3

Then I expected the third to be The Manadarin and his team against the now larger Iron Man team.

The ending of Iron man and Starks cameo appearance in The Hulk literally confirms either the S.H.I.E.L.D film or possibly Avengers. In all honesty I'd like a civil war or world war hulk film but I really don't see them happening.
