Goldeneye: 007.

Because Bond is badass.

Well in perfect dark you can unlock some classic levels that where in goldeneye such as temple and facility. And when you are playing multiplayer, your player goes up ranks and one of the ranks you get to is 00-agent. Its a sequel but it's lots of years later, passed bonds life.

Rare made both games.

and another underrated FPS is serious sam. Do Co-Op through the campaign, It's fuxing hilarious

Would def have to say Golden Eye :007 for n64,

For any multiplayer would have to go with the UT and Battlefield series.

Perfect Dark

and beaker, you're crazy. it's not a sequel in any shape form or fashion.
It is a sequel, how isn't it. It just doesn't have the same main character and its in the future, they are both secret agents...

"and not in any shape or form"..have you played both of them, they are exactly the same game except perfect dark has more features, and theres a different storyline.
Best FPS of all time is Half-life 1 hands down.

On a nintendo console? Turok.
I think Goldeneye and Perfect Dark kick Turok's ass. But man that game was still freakin' awesome.

Turok 1 and 2 were great.

Hang on
Puts that logic into play
WOW there have been a lot of golden eye sequals

your dumb. What other game besides perfect dark has levels from goldeneye in it?

Read your post
You said nothing about Goldeneye levels

Yes he did, in a post a little back.

But having levels from a different game doesn't mean its a sequel, its what people call "easter eggs". References to other games for kicks, or subliminal advertizing.

Perfect Dark definatly isn't a sequal, but it does have plenty of aspects off Golden Eye cause.. well, why fix whats not broken? After all, they where made by the same comapany(rare) so they where able to pull it off.
(Then again, I didn't play the game, but I assume these things are easter eggs, more probable then a sequal.)
So i decided to look it up on wiki

They refer to perfect dark as a "Spiritual sequel"

And the refer to goldeneye as it's "predecessor"

make what you will of that..

I also just checked ign, they call it a goldeneye sequel without a bond liscnece

That's like calling The Lord of the Rings a Return of the Jedi sequel without the Star Wars license.

thats not even close to the same at all.

Give me one reason why it would not be considered a sequel besides the fact theres no bond...

- different main character
- different settings
- different storyline
- different weapons
- different subject matter
- different title
- different location
- different time
- different enemies
- no reference whatsoever to Goldeneye other than a multi-player level or two.

Name one reason why it would be considered a sequel besides the fact its a FPS from Rare...

beaker, if your logic were correct, that would make golden eye a sequel to Donkey Kong Country because of DK Mode ?_?
and the reason for all of those being different is because it's based in the future... And why would they make all those the same for a new game, it would be like releasing the same game.

And honestly.. different storylines...if it was the same story line that would be dumb.

and what do u mean by different subject matter.

your reasons are dumb. sequels can have different enemy's main characters, story line, weapons, location, time.

Both games are based on secret agents
they both use the same game engine
pd has many unlockables from goldeneye like the pp7.

Just because its not james bond, doesnt mean its not a sequel. Rare said they didnt want to make james bond in another game because the wanted more games centered on women

Perfect Dark DOES NOT continue the narrative of GoldenEye 007. Therefore Perfect Dark is not a sequel to GoldenEye 007, literally by definition. pwned.

Anyway, maybe this should get back on topic...
