Lol, I see Wii as a lure to get everyone into the Nintendo boat, and then next gen when they have the enormous fanbase thanks to motion sensing controls they pull out something truly revolutionary.

*hopefully*

When has Nintendo actually done anything like that in the past? They never do anything revolutionary. They do enough to get by and maybe pick some people up along the way.

Holy crap are you kidding me? what do you call the Wii, i would say its the most Revolutionary system yet, it is completely different then any other system ever. yes were disappointed with some of Nintendo's game and accessory choices for the time being, but i think that is a very poor statement, its definitely more revolutionary then a PS3 or 360. Those are all just a better version of the previous model, thats all that anyone ever does, except for the Nintendo or wii, its totally different.

ya darned ppl trying to make money
Motion sensing has been around since the SNES. Not revolutionary at all.
It just failed then.

Wii is just an improved GCN with motion sensing.

I can already picture the Brawl commercial, a group of 4 people playing it swinging their bodies and flailing their arms around, smiling, laughing and high fiving each other whenever someone kills someone. And the guy that died would be incredibly happy too. Cause it was that great.
With the weird music accompaining it.

im sorry, but i disagree completely. Yes something with motion sensor technoledgy had been tried in the past, but as you said, it failed miserably. so what did it revolutionize? nothing. nothing at all. The Wii on the other hand has sold more units then either of the other next gen consoles. so it is a success and it is a totally new way of playing games, maybe not all the time, but for the most part, nothing like Wii sports, Raving Rabids, or any other game that requires that much interaction has never been made, at least not for a household product, so thus... revolutionary.

They did, and do. Its called those t.v. input games xD
This is just all those casual T.V. input games molded into one console.
*shudders*
No. Those TV input games were fun for 10 minutes. I should know since I own a couple. They're pretty terrible. While you could argue that WiiSports is a lot like one of those TV input games, there are far more that aren't. And I'd say Wii is revolutionary simply because Nintendo's doing something completely different and making it work. You say motion sensing was around since the SNES days? Of course it was, but it was never the entire basis for a console. When I first saw I Wii I thought "Finally, something different." Cause I thought about it and was kind of getting tired of the same thing over and over again. But I think what everyone's forgetting is the IR on the Wii remote. That's probably the best part cause they allow for the most perfect console shooter controls you're gonna find. Metroid kicked ass cause of the it's control method and I'm dying to give Medal of Honor Heroes 2 a shot.[/unplanned long rant]
The challenge has been set.
Umm.. isn't it me who "pwns" at rainbow road?

You just got lucky that one time :p

I haven't been over in forever. I should try Metroid hun?
Can't wait to pawn you in Mario Kart wii.
Doesn't mean I'm gonna buy a Wii though, I'll get my fill from my infrequent visits to your house, Nintendo's online seems flawed to me. These wii codes.. what was the point of them? I still don't understand.

Yes I admit I had fun with excite truck, but hey, I also have fun using flawed logic during arguments xD

And as for the completely different part Kindrik, like Zero Punctuation said, Nintendo just replaced button mashing with random stick waggling xD Not much difference to me.
maybe if Nintendo actually used the motion sensing potential (ie. Link's sword following the same movement as the wiimote.. which they got rid off...) then I'd consider it something revolutionary. Right now it really is just a flick of the wrist in any given direction, and point and click like a mouse on a monitor.
ill pwn you in mario kart, bowser sucks, yoshi ftw
wait a sec, Rawrmander is a mod and he doesnt even own a wii on a webste devoted to the wii, thats funny.

And yes some games you can just flick your wrist to make it work, I.E. Wii Tennis and Baseball, but for CoD or MoH or Raving rabids ( i know i keep using that but its true) it is completely different then anything else, and it works better then any other cheesy little plug in and play thing you would get for your tv.
Does D4rk own a Wii? Not as far as I know...
seriously, am i the only one who finds that odd?
at least d4rk WANTS a Wii ?_?
I don't really blame Rawr for not being excited by it.

I can appreciate your enthusiasm over the Wii, but there really is nothing revolutionary about it, and that's why I think they didn't use that name, because that would have been an excellent joke (more so then Wii) for the competition and others.

Super Mario Galaxy is going to be a good game, there is little doubt of that, but I always wonder what might have been if Nintendo would have not come out with an Everyone System, and made something specifically for gamers.

i dont know if i would call my self "enthusiastic" i really do believe that as far as any gaming system out right now goes, it is the most revolutionary, but i am just as peeved as anyone else with the lack of core games and other important things Nintendo has failed with, like a HDD or a world without friend codes. but also, someone has already made a system devoted almost completely to the gamer, Sony! and look how much success they have had. the only thing PS3 has going for the non gamer, is the cheap blueray. and remember Sony is the only company still making games for the previous generation, so whats that tell you.
and like i said, i unintentually started ranting about the whole revolutionary thing, thats really just a matter of opinion i guess, but i would agree that i dont apreciate these commercials, but you need to think about it from Nintendo's position, its about sales, and happy kiddy commercials is what is gonna sell for them...
* Thinks to self* i have to stop making such long posts...
